Wrong. They started at one and can only kill and recruit on alternating nights. They will likely recruit tonight to get up to 3.

That would actually awesome. If pants was telling the truth and LA is a Godfather, we can remove all of the evil seering power tonight.

Although:
Wise Guy Sampire (1, max of 3 at any time) - A group of vampires that start at one to begin with, each night they choose to either kill or recruit, alternating between the two each night. If they recruit a member of another group, that player will turn into another Mole. (all vampires can talk privately with each other).

does the underlined bit suggest they couldn't recruit N2?

That was based on flimsy reasoning that I knew too much about conversation limits. Which I explained and was backed up, and proven correct. Spook just did not accept it.
