I got these score off the Carlton Board

Weribee 14.16 100 to Bullants 6.8 44

Anyone know who kicked the goals and who got in bests?

A few things I picked up from listening to parts of the 2nd half on the radio:

-Robbins kicked 3 goals and spent time in midfield
-Doogs played in defence and kept Morrell very quiet
-Faulkner seemed to have a fair bit of it
-Street beat McLaren in the ruck

He was in the bests last week playing in the ruck and was again featured in the bests playing in defence today. Good to see him playing different roles. I'd find a spot for him next week.
If Grant wasn't ready then it would be easier fit him in.
Wight and Tiller would the two under threat.

McDougall as a possible CHB option? He's probably around the same pace as Wight and a bit bulkier.

Doogs has got to come in, there's no ifs, buts or maybes about it. He didn't deserve to be dropped earlier in the year.

Good to see Cam played well, maybe there's still some hope for him.

I think Eades comments about not bringing back players who have been in and out of the side signal the end for Faulkner. It was also only a couple of weeks ago that he was suspended by the club for something. I would not be too hopeful of a recall.

I understand what you are saying but I would say that Cam has not been coming in and out of the side on a monthly basis this year he has been put in once and taken again so maybe that comment was more with Robbo in mind and players such as Wil Street etc.

BUT I agree with you not sure where Cam stands in regards to Eades plans. Cams timing of his suspension was not good, but he can only put in the performances at Werribee that he has putting in and that at least forces Eade to decide whether he plays him or not because his form at Werribee over a period of time warrants selection.

Ventured to Batercard Oval today and got there early to watch both games.

For the reserves there was a few Bulldog listed players

Tim Walsh was back from injury and mainly played in the back half after quarter time. Kicked one or two goals. He spent a bit of time off the ground as they worked on his legs because he was getting some cramps and some general tightness.

Paul O'Shea also played as a defender but funnily enough he also did some ruck work and was quite impressive. His skill level is not great but his spirit and endeavour was first rate.

Brennan Stack played forward, back and in the midfield. At times he was just too classy and made the impossible look easy and then he also made some fundamental errors.

For the senior team

Damien McCormack played mainly in the back half and used the ball fairly well. He isn't quick and will never be a star but his performance today was more than OK.

Matthew Robbins - Hit a bit of a purple patch in the 3rd quarter and kicked a couple of goals. He mainly played forward. Not a great game but some good signs.

Andrew McDougall played in defence for the 2nd week. Doogs started on Digby Morrell and he started a bit slow. From that point onwards Doogs got better and better. His 2nd quarter was fantastic and while he was a bit quiet in the 3rd. Doogs now shapes as a genuine option for a senior call up.

Travis Baird was mainly played in the forward line and presented well. Took a couple of strong grabs and used the ball well.

Marty Pask played in the back half and performed strongly when it counted. Was probably starved of opportunities but did his job.

Gavin Hughes played on a wind and in his typical manner he was good when he had the ball but not hard enough at it when his opponents did.

Cameron Faulkner - played everywhere and was solid throughout each quarter. His kicking was very good as was his pace and attack on the ball. The defensive side of his game was solid as well.

Malcolm Lynch played as a forward and was fairly quiet. He just couldn't get the run of the ball and fumbled a few times.

Peter Street started well and was marking everything in sight. Copped a heavy knock to the back but battled on throughout the day. Not a bad effort by Street.

Pods played but was just OK. Barham was once again very good. Ben Lavers had the ball on a string in the 2nd half.

with doogs you said played well in the back half and particularly 2nd quarter. how was he playing it? I mean was he just manning up tight or was he running off Morrell? outmarking him? 3rd man up?

Yes he was running off his opponents (not just Morrell) he was also spoiling the marking attempts of others. I can't say that he outmarked anyone too often but he really seemed to get the hang of how to play the position and still be attacking. His 2nd efforts and tackling were pretty good as well.

It wasn't a dominate game by any stretch of the imagination but a good return to form.

How would you compare his recent form to that of Everitt and Williams when playing in the Bees before they got put in the senior team?

Atkins Report for Round 16 v Northern Bullants

Round 16 v Northern Bullants

Tim Sheringham: mainly half back flank he was pretty good

Travis Baird: presented well to the ball and did his job well.

Andrew McDougall: he kept his opponent right out of the game he was slow to get going but played well as a key back and gave us some run forward as well

Teghen Henderson: played half back flank had 18 possessions did his job

Jordan Barham: worked hard in the centre half forward area, has been working on his marking, kicked 2 goals he really gave us a contest by jumping at the fooy

Cam Faulkner:19 possessions he really went in for the footy, played body on body and it was a strong game for him.

Ben Lavars: showed he has the speed and it’s pleasing for his development that he can take them on and break the lines

Damien McCormack: showed glimpses of what he can do for us that is an encouraging sign.

Matty Robbins: dirty day really, but he did kicked 3 goals which was the positive, he spent a bit of time in the midfield as well as upforward

Marty Pask: his opponent did not have any influence on the game so he did the job we asked.

Malcolm Lynch: his work rate has been great, his defensive pursuits have been good & he went into the midfield which is good for his development

Liam Gardner: 13 hitouts, he is still developing and improving with each game. Needs to improve his marking

James Podsiadly: he’s been out for over a month was a bit rusty and he will be better

Gavin Hughes: looks good up forward and can be damaging

Peter Street: dominated the ruck with 24 hitouts, he got the mix right of rucking and around the ground. Really good game

Rob Castello: a couple of skill errors that is unlike him let him down a bit but generally he went ok

Dom Gleeson: his workrate was good 26 possessions but does not get the value for them, he is a real in and under players with great courage

Jarrod Young: took control of Adam Bentick after he started on fire and really controlled him also won the footy and was hard and tough at the footy

Josh Eddy: senior debut he was pretty solid, he competed well and rose to the level.

Jake Furfaro:3 goals 22 possessions 8 tackles he was our best, a really good game

Sam Wormald: got to realise he has to be on the go all the time.

Michael Rockefeller: got towelled up early by his opponent but he came back and was a vital midfielder for us

Williams hadn't done that much when he was first played. Everitt had been consistent without starring.
Doogs struggled and got demoted to the 2nds. 3 weeks ago he had a very good game in the 2nds on the ball and the last two weeks he has performed well in defence. It's a bit hard to compare the three.

ironically, if doogs displayed the poise and initiative in the seniors that everitt did last week, we'd all be pretty happy with him.
