No contribution from me last week guys as had the weekend off due to netball reporting commitments.

I am back on board this week for the games against the Box Hill Hawks.

Been saying for a while that Daws skill set will translate well to AFL.

We talk about the defensive pressure that the likes of Campbell and Thomas can bring, well Daw is bigger stronger and faster. Opposition defence will be running scared when he is about.

The report on Pedo was interesting as well. The game against Essendon where he played at CHF last year was a great example IMO of his skills around the contest. Quick clean hands and an ability to keep his feet. Hopefully he doesn't end up as a wasted talent for us.

Maj averages 5 tackles a game in the VFL. That's quite incredible.

In the AFL, Spitter leads the way with 6.9, Mumford gets 4 and Naitanui gets 2.9.

There certainly is a few blokes knocking on the door at the moment. When their chance comes they'll need to grab it

How did you see Ayden's and Mangans name. While Mangan has been doing a good job as a lockdown defender in just not sure he has enough weapons in his arsenal to demand another year on the rookie list.

Kennedy was good again. A couple of kicking clangers which I hadn't seen from him before though. Went onto Liam Jones for a period of time after he troubled Hartigan early. Quietened him. Didn't dominate but was solid. Looks a ready made AFL player to me. I guess with his previous injury issues will hopefully see out a full year at Werribee and then get a full pre-season in. Then he will be hard to keep out of the AFL side I would think.

Mangan was very solid again. Was playing on Skinner and other medium fowards. Had trouble with them a couple of times. I like him as a player as he has no frills and usually gives his all in each contest. Not 100% sure he has that bit extra that will let him be an AFL player though. But if all else being equal I would think he deserves another year as a rookie to see how he progresses with another pre-season and year in the AFL system. Could become a valuable lock down defender but probably needs to develop some more offensive skills to make it in modern day AFL
