More excellent notes from colts observer Lingsface. Round 4

East Perth vs Perth
Noticed a few stages of the game being at a bit lower level than previous weeks, but some promising signs still and some flashes of brilliance.

East Perth
#9 Karo Flessas (EP) 26 disposals (2027 Draft)

Enjoyed this guys game, creative and pushes play off the half back flank very well. Seems to be a nice size, good speed and a lovely kick. Had some really nice parts to his game.

#5 Jack Clarey (EP) 22 disposals 10 tackles (Colts Overager)
Did not do anything that had a wow factor but just a very honest footballer who is clean on the inside and battles defensively. Someone you would love in your side and would deliver that weekly I imagine.

#33 Keidis Solberg (EP) (Colts Overager)
Seeing this guy again, he was played up the ground a little more because of the outs this week. I would like a 50/50 balance as he just has some tricks and class that could damage near the goals, does not really have the engine atm to do a 100 in the midfield it seems. Again did some very nice things great composure and run and carry with the footy.

Perth
#34 Zac Workman (P) 22 disposals 7 inside 50s 3 goals (2026 Draft)

An un "workman" like effort, it was pure class and skill. He has lovely disposal by foot and finds the ball at full speed a lot. Very impressive display.

#39 Campbell.Brown (P) 14 disposals 2 goals 6 inside 50s. (2027 Draft)
They were saying he was a first gamer, very promising. Beautiful left foot kick, great on the lead and on the ground looks like a player that could progress into a classy midfielder as well, me presuming he is an under ager. Probably set a record with first colts game with that name and not getting suspended as well!

#47 Dylan Dunlop (P) 13 disposals 5 marks (2027 Draft)
A random one but just caught my eye 200cm and had a string of very nice contested marks in one quarter.

#28 Kye Inferrera (P) 21 disposals 5 tackles (2027 Draft)
Won the ball inside and outside, looked to have a turn of speed and good decision making. Was a key factor to getting plays started from the middle.

Many thanks Lingsface.

Must have run out of room for Jamo 21 disposals 6 marks and 2 tackles. 3 inside 50’s. Should have had 3 goals but his radar was a bit off 😂😂😂

Workman’s goals where very good, lucky enough to see him grow over last few years are missing a whole year with stress fractures in back.
Dunlop is getting better with each game.
Inferrera was good.
Perth getting better each week and will get even better did they start using the first option and not trying to do to much with the ball. Some players taking it on rather than giving the quick hand pass or kick to a team mate in better position.
Love the way these boys are playing

To add to this PSA Trinity vs Guildford

East Perth players

Jett Edwards (Trinity) - he was elite in the forward kicking 7 goals, amazing speed and running patterns, could have kicked 10, from playing half back last year and moved forward this year is really starting to pay off and the scary thing is he will only get better.

Will Taboni (Trinity) - played middle all game and racked up a heaps of disposals was very consistent in the middle. Really use his evasive speed

Lachlan Mcglade (Guildford)- was one of Guildfords best, played mid vertically all game and really great around the ball and used his speed and his creativity exceptionally well.

Watched Subi and Peel on Friday night. In my mind definitely a colts game not worth watching again. Skills deplorable and dropped marks galore. Think the WA boys taking 6 weeks off for trial matches is going to be a tough watch for those who enjoy the colts comp. Only a couple players worth looking at in my eyes:

#11 Thatcher Simmons (Subi)
Got a lot of the ball and runs forward really well. Running patterns defensively aren't great - feel like this is probably why he was overlooked by the state squad despite his pure ball-winning ability. Was everywhere as an option for his teammates on the outside but no real wow factor which you'd expect from someone who had it 35+ times. I'd like to see him playing reserves to see how he goes up against the bigger bodies in a more contested game with less space.

#4 Jethro Davidson (Peel)
First game - was just solid and composed off half back. Is a 2009 kid, so one for next year. Think he has the capability of pushing up to a wing later.

#39 Oliver Edwards (Peel)
Provided nice relief for Makuach in the ruck. Is a long term prospect but thought he really stopped the Subi rucks from competing and then spreading which is a good asset.

Also watched Claremont/East Freo on Saturday - could see Peace getting picked up mid-season.

#3 Leo Gilla (Peel) I liked parts of his game. Seemed to have a bit of pace and hit the ground running coming out of marking contests a couple of times. Seemed to have a bit of x factor.

Here you go Haggis , Kevin Sheehan’s top 70 draft prospects for 2026 – in no particular order.

TYSON BRADLEY
Club: Victoria Metro/ Sandringham Dragons/Highett JFC/Brighton Grammar

Height: 195 cm

DOB: 16/09/08

Bio: A super reliable tall defender, Bradley is often assigned to the opposition's most dangerous marking forward. He impressed in his bottom-age year for the Dragons, averaging 9.6 disposals across eleven matches and earning a spot in the AFL Futures game for Team Docherty. Highly competitive and excellent in one-on-one contests, he uses his strength effectively to hold his ground and makes smart decisions on when to mark or spoil. Bradley began this season strongly averaging 11.3 disposals at 78 per cent efficiency and 4.5 marks across his first four matches, with his contested marking being a feature of his game.

ARKI BUTLER
Club: Victoria Metro/Sandringham Dragons/Beaumaris JFC /Brighton Grammar

Height: 182 cm

DOB: 23/04/08

Bio: An exciting medium forward, Butler reads the cues early to get first to the ball when in attack and uses his clean hands to take clever marks overhead or gather the footy at ground level. He was a dangerous forward-50 presence during the under-16 national championships in 2024, earning All-Australian honours as one of Vic Metro’s stars. During that tournament he averaged 2.3 goals from 19.3 disposals (9 contested) and 6.7 marks, with his decision-making and contested ball-winning ability particularly standing out. Continuing his impressive form as a bottom-ager, Butler booted 28 goals from 12 matches for the Dragons, including two bags of five, which earned him a call-up to play a match for Vic Metro at the under-18 national championships. Physically, he tested exceptionally well in the pre-season, recording an impressive 2.91 sec for the 20m sprint and 8.08 sec in the AFL agility run. He started the 2026 season strongly, tallying 26 disposals and four goals in the opening round of the Talent League. Butler is a member of the AFL National Academy and impressed with his composure and ball use as he averaged 15 disposals and three clearances from two matches against VFL opponents in April. He has strong AFL bloodlines as the grandson of St Kilda premiership player Allan Davis, who played 250 AFL games across four clubs - St Kilda, Melbourne, Essendon, and Collingwood

HARRISON CHAPMAN
Club: Victoria Metro/ Eastern Ranges/Boronia FC/St Joseph's College

Height: 189 cm

DOB: 06/01/08

Bio: An athletic midfielder with impressive speed, Chapman also has clean hands to get involved in link-up play. He was a premiership player for the Ranges last year, predominantly playing on the wing. There, he averaged 13 disposals across 18 matches, demonstrating his overhead ability and two-way running capacity. At Under-17s level last August, Chapman was one of Vic Metro’s top performers, registering 21 disposals and eight inside-50s in a victory over Queensland. He also looked comfortable on the MCG on AFL Grand Final day, moving impressively for Team Boak. Chapman started the 2026 Talent League season strongly, averaging 20 disposals at 72 per cent efficiency across the opening three rounds. He is also a member of the AFL National Academy and featured in two matches against VFL opponents North Melbourne and Richmond in April, averaging 11.5 disposals at 85 per cent efficiency in wing and halfback roles.

His impressive form continued in the AFL’s Multicultural Academy representative match against the AFL Indigenous Academy. There, El Souki was one of his team’s best players, gathering 21 disposals (11 contested), laying five tackles, and kicking a goal. He started this season in great touch with the Jets, averaging 20.2 disposals and 2.6 goals from his first five matches, including a bag of six goals against the Northern Knights in round 4. Given his Lebanese heritage, El Souki is a member of the Western Bulldogs Next Generation Academy program and is also part of the Bachar Houli Academy

SAM GAYFER

Height: 194 cm

DOB: 21/05/08

Bio: An athletic tall forward, Gayfer is known for his vice-like grip overhead, strong athletic traits and big natural leap. After recovering from an injury setback last year, he played six matches for the Knights in the Talent League, showing glimpses of his potential by kicking five goals and averaging 6.8 disposals and 2.8 marks. He demonstrated exceptional athletic prowess in pre-season testing, completing the 20m sprint test in a slick 2.91 sec and finishing the AFL agility run in a smart 8.17 sec. Gayfer started this year in impressive form, particularly with his aerial work and goalkicking, averaging 10.8 disposals with 2.3 goals from his first four matches for the Knights. He also kicked three goals from 12 disposals and four marks in a Vic Metro under-18 trial match in April, looking dangerous in attack. A Vic Metro representative at under-16 level in 2024, he is the nephew of former Collingwood defender Mick Gayfer.

Height: 180 cm

DOB: 17/01/08

Bio: A tough and agile midfielder with clean hands, Harris can also push forward and hit the scoreboard. His vision and spatial awareness help him create for his team, particularly around stoppages. As a bottom-age player at the Cannons last year, Harris caught the eye as he averaged 17.1 disposals across 13 games. He also shone at representative level, racking up 21 touches for Vic Metro in an under-17s game against Queensland last August. Harris started 2026 impressively, averaging 19.7 disposals across his first three matches for the Cannons as well as gathering 20 disposals in a Vic Metro under-18 trial match in April. He is the son of former North Melbourne star Daniel Harris, who played 149 matches for the club, qualifying him as a father-son prospect for the Kangaroos this year

LACHIE HICKS
Club: Victoria Metro/Western Jets/ Altona FC/Wesley College

Height: 183 cm

DOB: 19/01/08

Bio: A prolific ball-winning midfielder, Hicks is known for his clean, one-touch hands. He confirmed his potential in his bottom-age year with the Jets and Wesley College in 2025, after winning MVP honors for Vic Metro at the under-16 national championships in 2024. In the Talent League last season, Hicks averaged 19.7 disposals across six matches, highlighted by a dominant late-season performance against the Bendigo Pioneers where he collected 34 disposals and kicked four goals. He continued that outstanding form into this season, averaging 28 disposals (14 contested), 4.5 clearances and 3.5 tackles from his first four matches for the Jets. Hicks also impressed with 24 disposals and three goals in a Vic Metro under-18 trial match in April.

TATE HODGSON
Club: Victoria Metro/Northern Knights/Park Orchards FC/Luther College

Height: 197 cm

DOB: 24/07/08

Hodgson also held his own at under-18 level for the Knights as a 16-year-old, averaging nine disposals and three marks across 11 matches. A back injury sidelined him for the entire 2025 season, but he returned to almost full training late last year ahead of 2026. He went on to make a solid start to his 2026 campaign with the Knights, averaging 12.7 disposals and four marks from his first three matches. Also a member of the AFL Academy, Hodgson was rock solid in the air and used the ball well in matches against VFL opponents in April. He averaged 10.5 disposals (86 per cent efficiency) and 5.5 marks across those two matches, looking both courageous and comfortable in defence.

He emerged last year while playing for the Knights at under-18 level, featuring in 13 Talent League matches from which he averaged 10 disposals, 3.1 marks, 7.4 hit outs, and kicked 12 goals. While still learning his ruck craft, Houndsome competes strongly, follows up his work well at ground level and is capable of taking a nice mark on the lead or in contested situations. His overall fundamentals are good and he possesses a sound kicking technique. Houndsome’s impressive bottom-age year was capped off when he played for Team Boak in the AFL Futures match in September, recording 11 disposals and six hit outs. He posted excellent speed for his size in pre-season testing, registering 3.03 sec for the 20m sprint, before averaging 10.7 disposals and 19.7 hitouts across the opening three matches of the Talent League this year. A member of the AFL Academy, Houndsome had the honour of captaining the Australian under-18s team in its representative matches against two VFL opponents in April, where he took a number of contested marks to highlight one of his strengths. However, he suffered a significant rib and lung injury in the second match, which was expected to sideline him for about a month.

BLAKE JUSTICE
Club: Victoria Metro/ Calder Cannons/Greenvale FC/Assumption College

Height: 191 cm

DOB: 29/09/08

Bio: An athletic wingman with impressive speed and endurance, Justice played 15 matches for the Cannons in 2025, averaging 18.4 disposals and finishing fifth in the club’s best and fairest count. He is creative by hand and can be damaging with his kicking centre-forward. Justice confirmed his athletic prowess during pre-season testing, recording a sharp 2.89 sec for the 20m sprint and a brisk 7.93 sec in the AFL agility run. However, he was sidelined for the start of this season with a thigh injury, with a return to the field expected in late May. Justice is a member of Essendon’s Next Generation Academy program due to his Indonesian heritage.

JORDAN KNAPP
Club: Victoria Metro/ Eastern Ranges/North Ringwood FC

Height: 179 cm

DOB: 01/05/08

Bio: A clean and composed midfielder, Knapp was a star for the Ranges in their premiership-winning campaign last season. He showcased his excellent ball use and football smarts as he averaged 20.8 disposals across 11 matches as a bottom-age prospect in the Talent League. He also dominated at under-17 level for Vic Metro, collecting 26 disposals and laying five tackles to be among the best players in a match against Queensland last August. Knapp went on to demonstrate his composure on the big stage during the Under-17 Futures match for Team Docherty at the MCG last September, gathering 16 disposals. He has been impressive in the early part of this season, averaging 28 disposals (nine contested), three clearances and 4.7 tackles from his first three games with the Ranges. Knapp also logged 26 disposals for Vic Metro in an under-18 trial match against Vic Country in April.

ANGUS TIPPETT
Club: Victoria Metro/ Western Jets/Point Cook FC

Height: 194 cm

Harvey Spawton-Guy (West Perth)

In the words of noobermensch himself

"A big performance from Harvey Spawton-Guy who not only found a stack of the footy but also showed his versatility as a big man playing on all three lines in the one game. For the first three quarters he played in the ruck where he competed hard without winning a lot of hit outs, his excellent follow up work allowing him to win a lot of possessions at ground level as well as roaming and presenting as a marking target around the ground. He rested forward at times and presented strongly inside F50, then in the last quarter played as a key defender again looking imperious in the air and repelling a number of opposition entries. His size and aerial strength is impressive, and he possesses a penetrating kick."
