1991 Grand Final. Bunch of us under-agers snuck into the Boddington pub, and got plastered. Much merriment was had by all. Culminated with my virginity stolen by a rather chesty local lass in the carpark after the game. Best 10 seconds of her life.
Dad?

I remember when I lived across the road to Waverley Park my brothers and I found an elevator key so from that day onwards we always went down into the rooms, no one ever questioned us. My nana had bought me this stupid hat that she told me was only one of two and John Worsfold owned the other, it was so bad this hat, it consisted of a blue top and yellow rim, in the middle was one eye (to represent being a one eyed eagles supporter) on each sides were these hands that clapped, so I wore it to a game and went down into the rooms and who was I to walk past? The man himself Woosha, I said hi and he said hello and I pointed to the hat and said "what do you think? Just me and you have one of these", he had never seen it before :( my nan lied.

I died inside.[/QUOTE]

Do you have a picture of it? i think i have the same one.

...bet you are wearing it right now.

Take a photo and I'll tell you if it's the same.

always liked aussie rules. played for the hills and school team. when WCE were conceived i kept an eye on them out of interest, and when Malthouse arrived i was drawn in to being a regular supporter. it was like rediscovering football. it had changed, it seemed more exciting. remember watching in awe those legendary clashes of the titans at the waca - wayne carey and glen jakovich, simply wow! so many great games of course..(esp 2005-7) but one that sticks was that strange game in late 90's against dons, dogs? cant recall- we were 0-8goals in 1st qtr. then in 2nd qtr we went 8goals-0!!? crazy..with mitchell white if i recall correctly, always liked his raking kicks.

remember going to closed house parties and seeing mainy partying hard back then. everyone would think oh thats mainy, he's a lovable rogue, a legend..but sometimes i wondered how he did that and coped with training etc..and i say all this with respect. the heady days, excuse the pun..then along came cuzz..i moved to asia for sometime and missed a lot of the cuzz n' judd games. got back on track about 2004, and stuck with them ever since.
been on BF since 2005 or 2007? a couple of avatars down the road. (;
2 family follow Freo, 1 follows Swans, about 8 including our 9yr old son follow eagles. ive been in asia 15 yrs. relocating permanently to perth soon. look forward to catching a live game now and again.(in a new stadium?) havent done that since 90's. 2005 to 2007 produced some great games, particularly that pies finals game in time on, with our midfield out, we did ourselves proud..Cox, cox, cox! what a player. great times, but we're building towards them again!

I've been an eagles supporter since around 2002 when I was 6. I received my first T-shirt and knitted scarf from my Nanna and loved then dearly. Got the shirt signed by Hart when he came to our school in 05 and got an auskick ball signed by Kerr, Fletcher and Seaby. I remember that day because Judd was meant to appear and I was forced out of the shop before he got there. I was spewing.

Had a passing following to footy, never watched full games because I could never pay attention being so young. However I remember sitting and watching the entire 05 and 06 grand finals on tv, the whole town was covered in flags and streamers in the week lead up. Was crazy. Then when we won in 06 everyone graffitied this cow statue in a neighboring town in eagles colours. Some guy even did a set of wings on it at some stage.

Fell out of interest post 07, team slump contributed to that. My interest came back in 2011when we became a force and I've become such a fanatical supporter since then. Watch every game and follow the news like a crazy person. Finally went to subi (my birthplace coincidentally) for the first time in the 2012 preseason and saw the eagles v cats v dockers. I was stuck in a box full of dockers supporters, so horrid.

Love the eagles, I proudly bleed blue and yellow.

I find it hard to support a team that bears zero resemblance to the one I grew to love. The team I loved had wings on their jumper every week. It's all I ever wanted to wear to and from games. All I wanted to wear at footy training. And all I ever wanted to wear. Period!

What the **** has happened to my club.

Cant remember the first game. I know I was young and it was a derby....that's all.

Best moment - Watching Cox get carried off after the finals win against North a couple of years ago. The respect for the bloke was crazy. Woosha got an even bigger ovation from the crowd.

The next big thing was Nic nat kicking that goal after the game.....I will never forget that.

The roller coaster ride that was 05 & 06 will stick with me forever aswell. In the lounge room contemplating on throwing the family tv out the front door to the exact same game a year later.....was like a riot in my suburb after that game. The emotion of a GF can do crazy things to a man. I never really had a choice in which team I went for. My pop was an eagles fan and he took me under his wing from then on in.

Some of my earliest childhood memories is sitting on the couch zith my dad and older brothers watching the eagles and chanting 'Suma, suma, suma' whenever he would line up for goal.
Then for many years I hardly watched footy at all.... But if it was ever the topic of conversation I was always a one eyed eagles man. Really started getting back into footy hard in 2008, so basically the whole time I have followed the eagles like a true supporter we've been shit.

first game 2003 1st derby which we won

first footy memory would be west coast winning it in 1994. watched some of their games but was too young to passionately support them. then in 1999 i got on board and from there havent looked back.

saw them drop then rise to 06 which was one of the greatest days of my life. ( the last 5 mins of that grand final and the siren is still a blur) then saw us fall apart hard.

still love em though.

Driving around the south coast of WA on grand final day 1992 with my then GF & seeing all the ribbons & balloons hung up on farmers fences & mail boxes showing their support for the blue & gold had me wondering what the **** was I doing, I should be in pub getting smashed. I swore then that no woman would ever stop me from watching a grand final again.
