Cousins wasn't an 100% "quality citizen" look where that got him.
A brownlow and a premiership.
Both nothing Palmer will ever have, Blue Balls.
As for a premiership, if you think Masten is a chance it won't be while he is at WCE.
What team do you support again?

Neither was he a smart arse plus he could play and win the hard ball and won the rising star just like Palmer and unlike Masten. Whether he wins a Brownlow remains to be seen but given the way he plays he would have to be a much better chance than Masten.

The fact is that we had Rich as our first pick until fairly late into proceedings and we changed to Naitanui because of the hype surrounding him which I believe was over the top. Rich was the ready made product and has stepped seamlessly into AFL whereas Naitanui is at least two years away and as you say very much a future prospect.
Unlike you I am not as confident that he will be the superstar that a lot of people predict. I guess we shall all have to wait to see what happens.
The rising star means nothing. Its just an opinion, just like the Brownlow - where Masten finished above Palmer
BTW Masten had 9 contested possessions today![]()
How do you know that's fact? If my sources at Swans are to be believed it actually changed fairly early in the season, last season.
How do you know that's fact? If my sources at Swans are to be believed it actually changed fairly early in the season, last season. The kid's played 4 games and won 1 game off his own back. There's a fair bit to work with there. My comments on the Eagles board, about accepting that NN is not your stock standard, vanilla type ruckman, is aimed at people like yourself (not in a negative sense so please don't take it that way). People who want him changed into a drop into the spaces, loose man in defense type ruckman is a waste of what he offers IMHO. The last clearance from Naita to Masten, for the goal, was exactly what he offers and what he should be allowed to bring to the table.
On the Rich issue, yes, I'd have loved him in Eagles colours as well, but we couldn't take both, unless he slipped to 18.![]()
Teds just stirring the pot. Channel 7 reported as soon as the season was over that we would take Naitanui, at least 6-7 weeks before the draft. We always knew who we wanted IMO and the fact we were saying 'we want Rich' was clearly a smokescreen.

And you believe what Ch7 reports? I suppose you also believe in fairies!
So the Rising Star and the Brownlow mean nothing eh? Try telling that to those who have been good enough to win one not to mention anyone who follows the game. A stupid stupid statement even for you.
9 contested possessions for Masten? About time he started to show something on the other hand just a normal stat for Palmer.
I never said the brownlow means nothing, you lack reading ability. No surprise there![]()
Don't try making excuses for your poor grammar skills, just accept that you stuffed up.
If you're referring to the 'stuff up' of masten over palmer then I consider it to be the greatest stuff up of all time! quite happy with masten![]()
Palmer goes alright, too.
Anyway, let's get this thread back on topic... what do people think about possibly trading butler back to adelaide for a west aussie? Surjan comes to mind.
If Melb win 2 more games and WC lose all their remaining games, will we get the No.1 Pick?
Yes.[/quote]
And given that means Freo beats Eagles - that would mean a minimum of 1 and 3 and a distinct possibility of 1 and 2
Palmer rising star, Masten will never be.
Palmer quality citizen, Masten upstart.
Palmer wins the hard ball, Masten doesn't.
It's not how many possessions you get it's how you use them.

Time for this thread to get back on topic. Any further discussion of Palmer vs Masten and/or NicNat vs Hill vs Rich will result in deletions and infractions. How about you actually discuss the players West Coast are likely to draft in 2009?
