Yeah not saying full time midfield but a fwd/midfield role. Also say if TK gets tagged we swap him and TK around

It's more as a point of difference.

Currently TK is it really (and Nic of course), whilst Sheed, Redden, Gaff and Duggan are all very capable - none are particularly explosive away from stoppages.

Ah Chee could play less TOG or less time as a mid, but be involved at stoppages.

I'd like to see Ryan do this a little once he returns also (until we have Yeo/Shuey back).

Have we ever given Ah chee a full game just playing inside mid? Or have we always played him forward with brief stints in the guts? He was playing his best footy in SANFL as an inside mid yeah? Considering that's what we are lack with no Shuey and Yeo can we give it a shot? Doesn't have the class/skills of them bit hopefully could at least collect it and feed it out to sheed and gaff keeping them to the wings?

Needs another couple of weeks to build fitness but need to try him or trew until Shuey and Yeo get back.

Need to get gaff back on the outside for weeks so he can start to to clean up his possession getting back to his 2018 form/skills. He is currently rushing/hacking some possessions because of that inferred pressure having played inside mid for a bit. Great he can still get it inside but we need that clean ball/delivery he used to do. He can only do it if we have others getting in and feeding out.

I'd say if he was any good in the midfield the club would play him there. He doesnt seem to be that great in congestion which is probably the reason he plays primarily forward where he can use his leap.

His runner up finish in the SAFL doesnt mean much considering Partington won it recently and he isn't in the AFL anymore.

This week's inclusions for the WAFL team will be crazy, in fact you could say they will be

Ah Chee could just be a good State level player? No shame in that, just not great list management
I thought he was a great pickup at the time. Where has that booming handball gone? But he has played a few games for the eagles and filled a gap over the years when needed. Cant have a list of 40 A graders.

Lack of second efforts far too often. Ah chee has all the tools but 6 inches of gooey custard holds him back.

2020 stats:

Games - 16
Goals per game - 0.3
Disposals per game - 9.5
Tackles per game - 1.5
Marks per game - 2

just a bit too invisible for someone a decade in the system

Listed players who didn’t fly to Melbourne and are presumably available this week:
O’Neill
Ainsworth
Trew (probably)
Hutchings (possibly)
Cameron
Jamieson
Johnson (club won’t notice though)

So a max of seven players. Midfield actually looks alright (add Brayshaw into the mix too) but there’s bugger all at either end of the ground

Slim key position pickings. Out of interest does anyone know how many top up players in total on the Beagles list? We ever in danger of forfeiting a game if our injury crisis gets even more dire?

Edit - not to worry just saw the top up players are actually listed on the club website. Should be right with those numbers.

What's Drew Petrie doing these days? :p

The ones I know of
Brayshaw
Fitzgerald
Marlin
Feeney
Humble
Sinclair
Flint
Hug
Bentley
Busher
Nitschke
Deegan
Robillaird
Cary
Hansen
Hobbs
Mcgee
Borgogno
Cox although he hasn’t been sighted in a while

So that’s 19, can’t afford to have too many unavailable otherwise Petrie might have to come out of retirement again.

The website has the guys I listed plus Jarrod Humphries and Mitch Curnow. Curnow was a regular in 2019 and Humphries played the scratch matches last year before the season was called off (and was pretty eye catching actually), but neither of them have been used so far this year or even named in extended squads. They could be injured of course.
