West Coast Finals hopes are ruined and they have metropolis to Blame

I've just finished watching the delayed telecast of the eagles crows game and in the last quarter, Metropolis kicked out from a point three times, yes three times, to a contest where the crows outnumbered the eagles players. All Three Resulted in goals being kicked and given that one was from a dubious free kick, the crows may have won anyway. However Gehrig, Whom I dislike kicked out on 2 other occassions during the last quarter straight to an Eagles player no contest so why couldn't Metro?, Morrison was a rock across half back and Jakovich And Read Ably Assisted. Still they say the chain is only as strong as its weakest link and this was evident in the last quarter. Despite a real chance of pulling a win out of the hat, after a desparate 3rd Quarter Struggle the eagles snacthed defeat out of the hands of victory once again. Perhaps The saints really were that bad last week after all.

Very true DonsR. Dont know why he couldnt see other options, unless of course nobody was giving him any movement upfield which thanks to sevens lousy cameras you cant tell anyway.

Aside from that, all the speculation about the trade for that outstanding talent Gehrig and what they may want (Hay/Chick and Collica) from the Hawks.
Well on what he showed tonight I propose trading Salmon Krummell and a round 13 draft pick.

Crows won. Should have won by more. Eagles got some arsey shots from tight angles. Good luck to them in that respect but even so were not able to overcome Crows better performance.

Put Goodwinn on the right-han side so he can curl his left-foot kicks in at athe goal, I say. 3 goals 5 is a bit of a waste. Kicking from the other side he could have had maybe 5 goals 3.

Damn!!! so close. When Roo kicked us a goal in front with 7 minutes left i thought we might do the unthinkable but you get that. Theres always next year and theres strong rumors over here that Morrison and Braun will renew there contracts.

I only saw the 25 minutes of highlights that Channel 7 kindly decided to show at 12:30am of the saints vs eagles match (in hindsight a very humane thing) but there was one stat that is quite remarkable in my opinion.

The saints had 21 centre clearances to the eagles 4. However, we only scored 4-5-29 for the entire match.

I do not think that says very much at all for the eagles. Obviously we did not have the talent to make them pay but a top eight side by rights should destroy a team with a statistic like that.

And blaming Metropolis is a little silly. Their form over the past eight weeks is the reason why they are not in the finals and I don't think singling out one player is very fair.

Fair point Sainter. I've been away for three rounds, so I didn't see our game, but bare (bear?) in mind our No1 (and only since we traded Ball) ruckman is out. We've always had a few problems the centre when it comes to clearances, but Gardie may have made a difference?

Metropolis has been very good for us this year and i really think it was very unlikely we would have made the finals anyway.

Sainter...we dont have to worry about getting punished by better sides cos that stat of 21 to 4 centre clearances was just a freak stat. We never usually get beaten that badly through the middle with Cousins and Kempy in there. I think that stat though Sainter is more an indication on where your team is at, im not having a dig or anything but to have midfield dominance like that and still lose by 80 points...theres got to be something seriously wrong. I hope the saints can rectify it cos i actually like them.
