You know what is Hilarious, that you describe us as having nothing but failure, irrelevance and embarrassment but WC is currently Historically a lot worse than we have ever been and it's not turning around any time soon since your best players are all old. This is on the back of the most resourced club in the land where money is no object.

Soft caps have limited the direct coaching budget but WC has failed miserably in settling up a decent WAFL team to develop players and is too stubborn to chuck it out and start again. The Upper Management roles are still all jobs for the boys and a retirement plan for ex-players. You got back a coach who looked away during the biggest drug crisis that any club in the AFL has every experienced and another who took his team on a camp that completely destroyed them from contention.

Sounds like a great set-up for success.

I will back the current eagles board on this current rebuild.

Remember look at the 2010 AFL draft. Gold coast had 9 of the 1st 15 picks.

Yet... West coast used pick 4 on Andrew Gaff. Nailed both 2nd Round picks getting Scott Lycett and Darling. Topped off the draft in getting McGovern on the rookie list.

West coast eagles since round 1 of 2022.

I like how you bring up the dockers mediocrity and failure.

I look at the eagles 3 years of 2022-2024. 10 wins in 3 seasons.

Look up freos 2 worst seasons... I mean in 2001, dockers were 2 and 20 after 22 games. but in between that was 8 wins in 2000 and a 9 win season in 2022.

So at the dockers worst, they have at least 10 wins minimum in any 2 year period. lol

I don't know why you bring up the dockers as this is an eagle's thread.

eagles in the history have never had a rebuild that resulted in 4 or 5 or 6 years in a row of no finals.

This isn't a short-term plug and fill short rebuild of 2000-2001 or 2008-10 or 2013-4.

I look at the crows in comparison too. In a way, similar to west coast eagles. This current crows rebuild is massive. No finals from 2018-2024. I do hope they make finals and win a final in 2025.

Crows had periods of plug and play short rebuilds of 1994-6, 1999-2000, 2004, 2010-11, and 2013-4

the Eagles current rebuild is partially a result of them not getting one top 10 pick from 2014-21. 2014 and 2021 they finished 9th. they then made finals for 6 years in a row from 2015-20.

I mean the dockers 2016-21 rebuild came after our finals run from 2010-15. finals in 2010. dockers finished bottom 6 with 9 wins. in a normal season, bottom 6 easily means a top 10 pick but our picks were pushed back because GWS concession picks.

dockers didnt have one top 10 pick from 2012-15 as we made finals.

Definitely a downgrade from Simpson, though. If they were going to replace Simpson, should have been with a coach who has had long managing experience like Fagan did before he became coach.
