I think a few weeks for IPL, where you bowl a couple of overs here and there and go a for a bit of slog beats 8 months of physical torture. Especially when you get paid twice as much in the IPL.

Skills aren't what I think will take the longest, It will be game plan and learning how to read the game,
If he is a natural footballer that will also come relatively quickly, if he isnt then it will be a problem.
Getting the speed of AFL will be the hardest, decision making and disposing under pressure will be his biggest issue - there is just no time at AFL level.

Marsh is so much better at cricket than footy and is just starting to come good. Why would he even consider changing now?
He's given up on the IPL too to focus on First Class cricket.
