The 1903 North Melbourne team - winners of the first VFA Grand Final.

Can you show Geelongs 7 popularly elected VFA premiership cups to us, the papyrus the award was written on has unfortunately degraded to an unreadable state, possibly there is some cave art to describe these wins?

Tigers have a better game style than us but we have players who have been around success longer, unlike their flukey flogs! once their belief goes they will plummet back down to 9th quickly and stay there! they get gifted a GF and all of a sudden they expect everyone to forget 30 years of mediocrity ? no I remember it very clearly and its close to being back.
Who are these ancient Eagles players that have been around success longer, Cuz chose the ice pipe rather than work at your club, most of the others that have survived the pharmaceutical years are sharing a crack house together?

Well first to define success I specify our Non Victorian status then point out that 30+ years of history has shown us that to win the Flag we need either a group of state like players hence the early flags or a group of the best ever midfielders. Seeing those things are rare for any team making finals is success.
Our list of players who regularly play finals are Hurn, Kennedy, Lecras, Darling, Natinaui, Shuey, McGovern and Gaff. Throw in Yeo as another elite to have just started on his path to continued success with us.

Kind of an arrogant way to look at things if you consider by your logic that this recent flag you’re beating your chest over will be regarded in the same disdainful way in 100 years by opposition fans of the future.

History is what makes this game and the clubs involved in it great, hence why history should be celebrated, not berated.

Counting flags from.a different competition.is on another level of desperate though, may as well add reserves and under 19's to the tally.:padlock:

Fair to list them as AFL/VFL 9 VFA 7 its you Cats robbing the VFA of its rightful recognition and place in the history of the game;)

Take it easy mate, after all I did add yours in there too.

Unless you prefer not to recognize what your club has achieved in its infancy stages..?

Not at all, we’re celebrating and respecting what the founders of our club achieved.

It’s you bitter opposition fans disrespecting these former players and dishonoring the history of the game because it’s “Too long ago...”

lol, you Y-Gen millennials are the worst. :$

Yeah except Im a baby boomer born in '63;)

No probs recognising your early popularity when they voted for your 7 VFA Premierships, the first actual VFA Grand Final was won by North.

AFL allows clubs to recognise their past but not include them as AFL/VFL flags, our club didnt even bother playing a challenge against North owing to the game being umpired by the razor ray of the early 20th century shows how much they meant to us but yes we do have two, lets not forget the druggies won 4 VFA flags in a row themselves beating your 3 in a row.

I was a big fan.of VFA in the 80's watching Sandy beat Williamstown in the '85 Grand Final, a good mates brother Con Gorozides was playing although he didnt have the best of games, so certainly not trying to rob them of glory just putting those wins in there true perspective.
