What are everyones view on the match, who do you think will win? For me I think WC may just pull off a tight one but it could go either way.

Way too early in the week to know. We can win but we will need McIntosh Cousins Matera and Gardiner to be fit. If Gardiner doesnt pull up then look for Turnball to get his first game for the year. We desperately need Gardy to be fit though because Primus is the form ruckman in the comp and he will run all over Cox. Worst case scenario is if Cus and Gardy dont pull up therefore allowing Port to take total control on the middle of the ground.

I think they should give Travis Gaspar a run. He is starting to return to some form in the WAFl and at 195 cm, his height would be a benefit for the team. WC should play him as a CHF as trust me, I saw him play the other day and the guy can sure mark and kick!

PS When is Darren Glass coming back? His height in defence has been killing us!

If the eagles put their minds to it i think they are a top 8 team. Every match this season(except rnd 1) the eagles have shown brilliance which could of had us 4-2(we would of had richmond if it wasn't that trademark eagles last quarter fadeout, and we held on to essendon for 1.5qtrs). I'm sure the players are aware of this and will probably soon have a match in which they string together 3-4quarters and HAMMER a team.

Also, everyone is saying port are pretenders, and if so they cannot keep their disguise on forever. With the eagles desperate for a win and with home ground advantage we will be dangerous.

Eagles by 15.

I think we are a genuine chance for a win BUT only if Cousins, Gardy, Matera and McIntosh play. And not play half pace, i mean fit and ready to go. If that happens we are a chance.

Key to the game is to get our midfield going, Fletcher had a shocker against the Dons so look for him to bounce back and if Cousins is healthy and Kemp finds form and hopefully Braun will return then we should be ok. I know our forwards can be dangerous, no one seems to be able to keep up with Wilson. I have watched every game this year and he takes a lot of uncontested marks on the lead with his opponent left metres behind, his kicking also seems to be getting better. Plus Joey Matera can kick goals and i like Williams up forward.

So i think we are a chance if what i said in the first paragraph happens.

We are a definant chance, and I think we will push port all the way, but I personally think it will be port by just under a goal, but I definately am not counting the Eagles out of it. If they want it enough they can win it.

Should be a good game....Port are playing a lot on confidence at the moment and their win in WA against the weagles last year won't hurt that at all.

I think Port look too strong on form and on paper. It is possible to see a scenario (or 2 or 3 !) where the WCE get up but Port should start deserved favourites.

To beat Port WCE need to win the middle, or at least make Port work for their possesions. In the past when this has happened Port have gone wide, and it gives defenders enough time to get back, making it hard for Port's smaller forwards.

Anyway, I think Port will win as I can see plenty of ways in which they can....and really I can only see a couple of ways (and a lot would need to go right) for the WCE to get up.

Still games against WCE in Perth are always hard, so it would not be a great suprise if they get up.

Sorry to upset you guys, but if Port doesn't win by 5 goals or more then there is something wrong. Our midfield will be too strong and quick and our defence will have no problem containing your fowards. Also we have so many scoring options that you won't be able to contain all of them. The only way Port can lose is if they are not switched on mentally.

I think the eagles could pull off a win.....
but to win i think rowan jones needs to tag stuie Dew....
if he gets on a roll the game could be over......
Wanganeen is also a huge threat and Primus cannot be let to dominate the ruck..
the eagles need to use the ball a lot better and offer options all over the field.....
To win Wilson and phil have to kick straight and we have to be hard at the ball.....port are very hard and very aggresive

Hatters, the Eagle can tag Dew all they like but Port has just too many scoring options like Cockatoo-Collins, Wanganeen, Burgoyne, James, Schofield, Francis, Cornes, Tredrea and you can't tag all of them. The Bulldogs tagged Dew last week and even if he only gets 6 poscessions a game he will hurt the opposition with every one. Even with the Bulldogs flooding back into defence and Dew being tagged out of the game Port still managed to kick 20 goals.

Yes some good comments, Port are playing some great footy at the moment so the Eagles will have to be at there best to stay with them.
When players got injured last week it was hard for them to match up with the bombers. It will be interesting who they bring in?
Turnbull.
