Only a trial against the spooners we know.

though I can't recall us ever kicking 11 goals in the AFL in one quarter, especially under the previous coaching regime.
Best in our AFL history is 10.5. In 2001 against the Lions in Round 1.

Best under Hinkley is three occasions of 9.3 against Gold Coast in 2013, Carlton in 2021 and Hawthorn in 2023.

I'm probably a bit harsh here, but he should of marked that. It was a sign that he is struggling at this level and needs more work.
Nah, you're on the money. He should've marked it but he came from a long way and monstered it over the line. Ramm still needs some defensive craft and I also think going by the game more muscle in the chest area. He looks like he hasn't quite got use to his body yet.

klem22 are you glad we stuck with Carr for one more game?
I have to admit i was pleasantly surprised at Ports game yesterday, everything clicked beautifully. Its the type of attitude and style of play that we expect from our great club.
I have always hoped that Carr can work wonders after the train wreck of hinkly and will be great if he gets the very best out of what we have.
On a sober note we were playing a bottom 4 side so its hard to judge from that, but we can hope.
Thanks for your interest.

Ramm isn’t ready, but Ive said for years teams often take players who aren’t ready and play them until they are versus our hope they get ready in the 2s approach.

I thought Evans recaptured some of his form.

Berry … wow. He looks electric. Those pickups at pace , those kicks. That kick to zadow was unreal just to put such a long fast travelling kick to advantage.
Tkanks because I've been wanting to say this. He's also a young tall. I'm glad this coaching staff seems to want to develop actual defenders. He needs to learn his craft but if the coaches are persisting I feel that they think that he is close enough to becoming a good defender.

Yeah, being very harsh saying he's struggling. Many experienced backmen would have spoiled in that situation.

My biggest takeaway from the game plan was how West Coast were consistently unable to get the ball into the corridor, and instead had to constantly kick long and down the line to a contest.

Port seemed ok giving away kicks that were directly sideways or backwards, but nothing was given directly into the corridor. Nothing was easy for West Coast when in possession, and you could see they were hesitating after marks, presumably because Port were set up well behind the ball.

Defensively they have the potential to be an absolute pain in the arse to play against.

Offensively, they seemed more measured and controlled when in possession. Not as chaotic and relying on individual brilliance.

Was great seeing so many young players stepping up yesterday. There's a lot to be excited about.

According to Chad Corner the game plan is not much different and David King's praise of Josh Carr was to get back at Hinkley. What are you, 7 years old Chad? How are those grapes? A bit on the sour side?

It's really getting a bit obvious now, isn't it?

I remember at one stage in the call, West Coast getting a free called back and the commentators saying they didn't want to take it because they had nowhere to go.
