How about Collica with six tackles.

We need him in the backline, he is solid as a rock down there.

Id like to see Collica(Carroll) Wooden(Bandfield) and Adkins(Munro) come into the team for this weekend game myself, all have been playing amazingly well the last few weeks in the WAFL and deserve their chance IMO

out: carroll - it would be either him or hunter
humm - he didn't do badly but definatly wasn't used well.
munro - average game up forward

in: mcDougall - playing well and can be used to strectch the doggies backline
wooden - he's getting into the the position that phil read was in at the start of the year.
matera - auto in

with the dogs lack of talls i would think that one of our tall defenders would definatly get the chop.

Unfortunately from what I've been reading about Woosha's plans for this match, the opposite is probably true - sounds like he is likely to go small to matchup on them.
Reactive rather than proactive if you ask me.

Hi All,
The WAFL stats are very encouraging in that they demonstrate that many of the eagles young talls are playing well at that level, and therefore pushing for a chance at AFL level.
Personally I would have given some of them a chance earlier, but so far the selectors have gone relatively small in the forward line.
I think we may do well in the finals this year and could get to the preliminary final...but a lot will depend on who we are matched against.
However, it is a long season and sometimes players go off the boil, particularly the young ones and there are still another 5-7 wins needed to make the finals.
In terms of development of the young KPP I think we are a year behind the Dockers in that regard, and that will, in the long run impact on how well we do this year. I said at the beginning of the year that I thought this team could not win a flag with either Jakovich or McIntosh holding down KPP and I still think that is true.
I think next year will be the one for the eagles if two or three of those young KPP can step up.

Its not that we need a KPP to be competative, we do just fine with what we have. Its just that a KPP would add that extra bit of flexibility and diversity to the team that would allow us to add aerial domination to our ground superiority.

Gaspar, McDougall and Lynch are needed for CHF, FF and CHB respectively. I would love to see them phased into the team during the year so as to be ready for 2004.

Talls

Of the young talls, McDougall and Gaspar I agree but Lynch is a hack. He is too slow and still cannot kick. Merely a WAFL player. I would rather Carroll at CHB (and that is saying something!)

Yes I agree. Geez Has Wilson slept with Woosha or someone else on the match commities wife or something? He couldnt buy a spot in the team at the moment!

its more that he doesnt fit what Woosha wants. He is giving Haynes the time to develop into a FF, like last year hes basically saying "we'll leave you there so you just focus on learning" rather than him worrying about if he'll stay or not. We are winning(in general), Haynes is getting better, keep him there.

Personally, I reckon for the longer term, that Gaspar is our option at CHB, McDougall is our CHF, and if anything, Lynch would just be a fill in key position player.

He was talking about the defence there I believe.

When it comes to forwards, you WANT mismatch. Darren Gaspar on Matera, anybody? :)
