Didn't they just re-sign Tim Kelly then drop him?

Looks like WC has gone past North as the worst team of the modern era. If you look at North's 2019 season, they had 10 wins & I think they are going to have more next year as it seems to be about to turn and they should hit 6-10 range at least.
It speaks for itself. West Coast are beyond woeful. Literally like Fitzroy 1996.

Fitzroy were only terrible for three seasons. They won 5, 2 & 1 game between 94 & 96. 10 wins the season before. 12.12% winning percentage over those three years but you can hardly blame their last season when the club was doomed.

If WC don’t win a game for the rest of the season, they will hit 12.08% over 4 season and be unarguably the worst AFL side of the AFL era.

We're even the best at being bad?

These are all 4-6 year periods, except Melbourne's, which is a nine year period (and we then didn't make finals for another two). :$

Their drafting and recruiting has been terrible for years now. They could easily delist 10 players this season.

Barnett,petrucelle,rawlinson,chesser , Jamieson,brock,owies,bazzo ,hunt,long

Throw in Allen leaving, sheed and McGovern retiring and no core group of players in the 24-28 bracket the worst is still to come. And For a struggling team who has been at the bottom their best youth isn't comparable to the teams around them. So they definitely do need one but they don't deserve one since they played finals not that long ago.

father/son is not assistance.
it's a long held tradition in the game and I love it.
Yes, some teams have benefited from it more then others, but thats life.
Tell your ex-players to have sons who are talented.

Father sons is assistance when allowed to be taken on top of academy priority access.

Its double dipping when others are getting nothing.

The current AFL policies allow the double dipping. Allows the massive gap between the 'have's and have not's"

Really hope Hodge's kid nominates Brisbane. Just another example of AFL policy favouring its pet expansion nepo baby clubs.

The AFL makes policies. Its even set limits on how much priority access benefits top clubs can get in a year. Problem is the limit is ridiculously generous. So they set a limit why? Becaus they could see it getting out of control. Problem is .......it IS out of control and the limits set are far too generous.

The Lions look like getting access to yet another top 3 mid again this year. AGAIN. And likely play in another grand final. The Lions board are openly admitting the rort in the system and laughing about it.

So much for equalisation.

Go list the concussion retirements and other LTI's

Bad list management as well?

Concussion retirements
McGovern
Venables
Sheppard
Edwards

Injury retirements
Sheed foot frctures / ACL
Naitanui knee

Current LTI
Allen knee
Yeo ankle / groin
Waterman shoulder

Not easy replenishing youth with only two decent picks per draft and no priority access when teams playing in grand finals and finals gut the draft with academy and father son access policies in full effect. Especially with the 2nd pick dropping 10 spots most years.

Anyway. Far too many facts refuting your "one eyed" argument so lets just ignore those shall we.

Give them 1st overall pick, but they have to trade Harley and extend Tim Kelly and Liam Duggan's contracts for another 5 years.

Eagles dont need a priority pick. They have enough picks already by trading and splitting picks.

They need 4 additional rookie spots.

2 for NGA's
2 for mature trades / state league players to help the kids.

Can manage that inside the cap no probs.

And an increase in the soft cap so they can employ more development coaches to develop the kids and additional spots.

That is all they want and need this year.

All this priority pick BS take is media flogs chasing clicks to generate outrage over nothing.

A few years to go yet surely.

They made their bed, not everyone else's fault they took a big shit in it.

Sold the farm for Tim Kelly when they thought they were reloading for another glory run.
Dropped down the order from pick 3 for Owies and Baker when it was pretty obvious things were dire.

They've got 3 picks in the top 20 this year.

And will probably get like 5 first round draft picks when Harley drops them like they're hot.

Let 'em burn.

Historically bad yet still got the second highest attendance on the weekend.

Says a lot about the minnows calling for us to fold.

Your clubs would cease to exist within 5 years without WCE.
Still THE most successful Perth based team in the AFL by a country mile. They’ll recover

The only silver lining to come out of this period is that it's showed that even at rock bottom we can still draw a decent turn out to games, sometimes even in shit weather.

Attendances have dipped a bit but the fans haven't scurried like church mice like fans of certain other clubs do when times are tough.

Ah wellp, through a mix of mostly bad decisions, some rotten circumstances (COVID wave) and a bit bad luck thrown on top we've found our way here.

Obviously as a fan I'd like us to ask for a priority pick, but I can totally understand the logic that others have of not wanting us to be given one.

Gonna be a long climb back up but we'll get there eventually, just don't know how long....at least we're getting good picks now before Tassie come in and blooding kids I guess.

They need to help themselves first by getting in a competent board and football department first.

As the saying goes, the fish rots from the head. They've made so many poor decisions with recruitment, footy department etc. Unless this gets addressed, you can give them all the draft assistance in the world, but culture and competency are the 2 biggest things that they need to rectify.

I dont like the AFL handing out PPs, but since they have done that they need to treat WC the same as the others.
Look what they gave Gold Coast, and they had an academy.
If the AFL give Victorian clubs and Qld clubs PPs, but not a WA and SA club (Port), it brings up some questions that will continue to push the Vic bias meme.

Crows never got given any assistance - and we lost Noah Anderson when AFL decided to give Gold Coast another draft pick out of nowhere

Got stiffed on Brad Crouch compo and then the AFL wouldn't let us trade with St Kilda to organise a cap dump to allow them to give him more (which, in itself I am fine with) but then they allowed Geelong to buy pick #7 off Gold Coast after winning the flag in a salary dump!!??!

We were horseshit for a few years but now we've rebuilt without any extra assistance beyond the picks you get for finishing down bottom

They can do the same

They traded pick 2 for 8 and 12 only 3 years ago and then traded pick 3 just last year that even their CEO had to do a press to explain why to their supporters. You can't award stupidity but thankfully Melbourne twice did with us for Petty and Oliver.
Yep, we could've had Jagga Smith sitting on the sidelines recovering from an ACL instead.

Good one.
