The West Coast Eagles confirm that AFLW player Jess Hosking has informed the Club she has decided to take a break from football this season due to personal reasons.

On one hand it sounds like she's done when she says she'd like to thank the Eagles for giving her another opportunity, but then says she's just taking a break from the game. If she wanted to be gone she'd have just asked for a release and the club probably would've given it to her

Sucks because she busted her ass to be a firestarter for the club at the beginning of last year. The season doesn't start till mid August so they got plenty of time between now and then to see if she either just straight up retires or gets what ever personal issue she has sorted and re-joins the club. Don't need to be scouring the country for a replacement just yet.

Ash Nelson of Channel 10 seems to be reading it the same as you. Departing the Eagles and taking a break from the game.

Hard to doubt the rumours when Eagles ripped down an article from when she joined the club after sleuths found it.

Bloody shame, she really set the tone for us last season, bit of Baker about the way she lifts the team and cracks in.

Sergeant's putting up big numbers in the WAFLW, maybe she gets a second chance.

They are interviewing for forwards currently from what I've heard.

I ain't a rumour merchant, but if whatever claims to have happened happened is it really that bad to have warranted an in club investigation and the subsequent fallout of the player leaving?

Yes. Probably not in all circumstances but when you're sharing a house in an employment situation, absolutely. I don't think this is the thread to deep dive on it, however. Rumours thread on the main board had some posts for speculation if you want to get into it.
