This has been my biggest gripe of the clubs social media'ing of the W team. They give you next to nothing. Like, I wanna know all about the new players we've brought in over the off-season and they don't give you anything besides whatever half assed mini run down they did on draft night.

They've been at the club for six months now and ain't seen a peep from the club besides that AFLW.com article covering Painter's move West.

There would be uni students and new graduates tripping over themselves to make relevant content, even if all the old boys wanted to stay in their positions churning out the same get up it’s game day tier stuff. It’s astonishing how far below the pack they are on basic socials content and attention to detail.

Riggs mustn't have played because they only listed the other three draftees as 'having a first look at'.

And hopefully Rentsch gets a good run through the middle this year. Whenever I watched the games last year she was playing deep in the backline trying to cover for all the injuries we had down there so much of her true attributes weren't really on show

Final slide. That's why Riggs didn't play, her left wrist/arm is in a cast. Good the club keeps fans abreast of what's going on injury wise. Never said a thing about Bella being in a moonboot for a couple months also.

I'm not talking about putting out a full on press release or anything when a player gets injured, but they don't even put a single sentence note or anything whenever they do training recaps.

I thought this as well, then I tried to lay out the team by possible positions, and realised we are probably thinner in forwards than defenders, so I can see why they did it.
Looking at the team, its the forward line that worries me most.
So, to lay it out for everyone, here is my breakdown.

Backs:
Thomas
*Rentsch
*Swanson
Smith
Z Wakfer
Cleaver
Johnson
Boyd
*Rigg
Schilling
*Hooker

Asterix is possible down back, but not certain. Overall, good in the air, a strong intercept marking backline, maybe a little short on run out of backline. With Boyd, Johnson and potentially Rigg available, I can see Cleaver being pushed to the forward line, where I suspect one of, her, Roux or Franklin misses out.
Bolded are those I think are certain to start first game, in the backline.

Gibson

Franklin

Lindgren
Dalgleish
*Hooker

With Painter, Kavanagh, Rentsch and Hooker added to the potential midfield mix, I can see Roberts being used to boost our forward line. Although probably not game one, I think they will see how those players look, and see if it can function without Roberts. If it can, I think she moves forward. Im a lot happier with our forward line if Roberts is in it, and our midfield is working well enough to get it there.

That looks a stronger midfield to me, and I suspect 1 or 2 of those squeezed out may pop up either forward or back, to ruin my calculations.

Other possibilities include Rigg for Wakfer, listed on the website as a Ruck has played a lot of defence.
Boyd for Johnson. Taller than Johnson by about 4 cm.

Edit: I also missed out Swanson who I think stands a fair chance of being back.

You can see why I would like Roberts forward. Not a lot of possessions in that lot. Dalgleish as a FP, but given her aize and age, I think she gets eased in, and I dont know much about Lindgren, so. Also, the website only lists 6 players as Forwards, and one of those is Hosking.

Only for high demand matches is how I read it - so games that are a possibility of exceeding ground capacity. Booking would ensure you’re guaranteed entry rather than leaving it to chance

Low demand games you’re more likely to be able to simply walk in without the need to prebook

From the moment she got drafted I assumed Painter would just go straight in the guts, but you might be right on the money here. Her and Kavanagh gonna be fighting for inside mid minutes this year unless they wanna be cute with her and play her in the forward line for spells.

I said it a month or two ago, she just turned 19 and has more a footballers body than 95% of the girls who've put on a jumper with us in our history, it's absurd.
