Know wonder the West Indies struggle in cricket these days. All the Jamaicans are turning to running the 200 metres. Imagine have Bolt, Blake, and Weir as their fast bowlers

When Bolt was younger he was dead set on wanting to play cricket for the West Indies. He can bowl well. Theres footage of him on youtube bowling Chris Gayle first ball in a charity match.

Regardless of what the general perception is, there is some pretty reasonable quick bowlers in the West Indies. Roach is as quick as anyone going around at the moment and is starting to get the wicket tally up, Edwards is very sharp - is no fast bowling great but still is a decent option. Rampaul ain't that quick, but he's been doing well of late. Then you've got guys like Best and Tonge who are thereabouts.

If they were in the Australian system, Roach would be in the "squad" of about 6 or 7 at the moment who are all thereabouts in our test squads (Hilfenhaus, Siddle, Pattinson, Harris, Starc, Johnson (ducks)), Edwards would be in (or very close) our T20 team and around the mark in our ODI squads and Rampaul would be one of the better bowlers going around in Shield cricket. They don't really have anywhere the depth that we have (which is excellent at the moment with Cutting, Coulter-Nile, McDermott, Bird etc. coming through, but it's a fairly competitive line up that matches up with most teams in world cricket.

Its not so much athletics raping West Indies cricket - its the US influence. Basketball and rap music culture has made cricket seem pretty uncool (mon).

Have any of our T20 teams approached Usain Bolt about being apart of a big bash squad
That would generate some serious interest in the big bash

The kind of guy that Usain is, i wouldnt put it past him to agree to it either

My fear for them is when Chanderpaul finally goes. He's still the glue that holds them together.

Roach will be a serious bowler if he can stay on the park and improve his no-ball problem.

Warney wanted him to play for his team. Bolt sersiouly thought about it. Heard him talk yesterday of how he realised his athletic potential playing cricket.

Would be shocked not to see Bolt have a cameo for a T20 side either in the next 12 months (longest time away from the next Olympics) or post Rio.
