Just wondering how many Blues fans there are in WA!

I believe we have a large supporter base in WA on Big Footy. Blue Gunslinger, JamisonRun40 are a couple that spring to mind and I recall they used to meet at the Odin Tavern to watch the games. Not sure if this still happens and like most of my posts this is running out of steam with preparation and facts. I am sure the Gunslinger can help me out??

Do you mean on BF or all WA.

When Carlton are playing well they turn up to the carlton matches at Subi in droves and put the locals to shame with the noise they put out.

In 2011-12 I went to West Perth v East Perth games at Leederville oval (always well attended, crowds of 6000+) and the Carlton jumpers were everywhere . Adults, kids and out numbering every other club (Freo was close) by some margin. Might have something to do with West Perths supporter base being similar , (known locally as the garlic munchers!! We love it).

Went to the same fixture this year and hardly spotted one. They haven't dissappeared but there's a difference to wearing your gear when the clubs struggling and when your club is considered a joke.

I still think we would be placed third in terms of AFL supporters behind the two local mutts.

Good point, I appear to have misinterpreted the OP.

ODN and Aphrodite on the membership number page can you come up with a spreadsheet that we can filter via membership numbers by State. That way we could clearly see where all of our members are based.

Shouldn't be too hard and I will leave it with you. I am heading out to play golf now so I look forward to seeing it when I return later this afternoon.

Also, if you could get those lawns mowed, have a look at that leaking tap, pick up the dry cleaning and grab something for dinner tonight, that would be great....

There is a large number of WA Blues supporters both on BF and around the traps here in WA.

There is also a club affiliated supporters organisation (WA Blues) that meets up at the Odin Tavern... talk to blue gunslinger or DamoESP about.

If I am still in Bunbury next year, I am thinking of starting up a Bunbury and the Southwest chapter of the WA Blues and try and find a bar where the Carlton supporters here can congregate and watch the match.

Impossible task TL.

Even the Club don't have those sort of stats on their website.

Now go away! :p

Whenever we play in Perth the fans come in drones!

Mate that would be the best, I live in Bunbury and would love a place to watch the game along side other Carlton fans!

Things are just that little bit different in WA.

Heya, I'm over here in Perth and up until last year when I got Foxtel would go to the Odin for most of the blues games.

I do miss the atmosphere there and will get to a few more this year I think.

WA based blues fans here along with my wife and two young kids. My old man and uncle are also passionate blues supporters. At my local footy club where I play we have a number of blues fans of all ages.

Will get a long to a few as well.

There was still a few hardy souls flying the flag this year.

A lot of Blue fans here, mainly because people followed their favourite player over from the WAFL.

Ken Hunter was the player I followed over from Claremont and been a supporter/member ever since.

My dog's are named SOS and Kruzer and my boy's name is Kade (but just liked the name, just happens to be one of the best Carlton player to ever wear the jumper). Hard to keep the kids following Carlton with all their friends talking up Freo or WCE, but they are just hanging on.

That's the battle a lot of us are facing and I feel we have may well have lost a generation of supporters due to our last 15 years.
