Still see Dogs as a future Hawthorn.

Their best group is still under 25 and will all mature together. If they trade right they’ll have a few more premierships to win.

The Stringer issue has complicated matter somewhat.

Cmon, we had a bad patch there - even Adelaide beat us!

2016 Bulldogs had a tougher fixture because we played finals in 2015 v Richmond softer fixture because they didn't make finals in 2016.

Richmond couldn't beat the top teams away, all their finals were at their home ground, the G. Bulldogs beat West Coast, GWS, Hawthorn and Sydney as the away team. Not one final game was played at their home ground.

Bulldogs carried injuries, Richmond had an unbelievable run of no injuries.

Bulldogs won the VFL v Richmond who were runner ups.

The Bont, is a lot younger than Martin who has hit his peak.

The Bulldogs played finals seasoned teams like Sydney in the grand final as opposed to a team with no grand final experience in Adelaide.

The Bulldogs came us with a new game plan based on pressure, fast handballs and total team buy in. Richmond copied our game plan, got team buy in and had the advantage of a good ruck.

    Bulldogs for me.

The Dogs and pretty easily really. Won 4 away finals (2 interstate) beat the team who'd won the last 3 flags and beat the best team in the competition.

Mentally stronger and a much more even team across the field.

Also Finished in 7th on 15 wins. 2016 was a much stronger Comp.

    5-6 goal better team.

It would be a game full of mistakes and fumbles. Swans would win though.

This "copied our gameplan" belief among Bulldogs supporters is specious. Bulldogs' kick:handball ratio was 1.07:1, one of the lowest ever recorded. Richmond's 1.36:1 is at the other end of the spectrum among modern teams.

Dogs 2016 and tiges 2017 are so underated. Running power plus relentless pressure would seriously take it up to best teams of the last decade. Haters Will disagree. Sometimes hatred blinds opions.

Tippett would be out injured and he'd still beat Jenkins.

Richmond were dominant in finals and never challenged. The Richmond 2017 side at the G in finals was an inctedibly hard team to score against, and they scored around the 100 mark per game themselves.

Richmond played the 3 top 4 teams in finals. And averaged 100.6 for and 55.5 against .
Bulldogs played 2 top 4 teams in finals, and 2 5-8 teams. And averaged 96 for and 71.5 against.

Richmond finished 3rd on the ladder. Bulldogs finished 7th.

Having injuries isnt a reason your better. It just means your depth was good, while Richmonds didnt get tested.
Bonts younger? Who cares? What does that even mean? Bulldogs last year were better because Bont was younger than Dusty this year? Wat.
Richmonds VFL was a kick off the grand final. Not much difference.
Does playing a seasoned grand finalists mean an advantage when they have shown the last few years that they cant win finals there? That goes against you, not for you.
Bulldogs also lost most their home and away games against to teams away. Richmond didnt get a chance to play away in finals.
Richmond was 17th this year for handballs. I f you think our gameplan was based of handballs, then you havn't been paying attention. Which makes sense why yout think we copied Bulldgos game plan. Lmao. Because pressure and team buy in? WTF does that even mean.

The dogs won by like 2 goals in last 2 finals. Richmond averaged over 100 points since like round 18 and won each final by roughly 45 points. on average Richmond concede 67 points at the mcg. Richmond at the mcg against the dogs would have won by 4 goals.

Why is this even a question when we have Dan26's definitive, conclusive rankings of premiership teams to answer it for us?

Clearly Richmond 2017 (the 80th best premier of all time) beats Bulldogs 2016 (the 103rd best premier of all time).

I think the Bulldogs just, if both teams were at their best. That means Tom Boyd smashing it.

Bulldogs. Dominant Dusty could throw it the other way, however they got over the top of a pretty special performance from Kennedy.
    Plus Tom Boyd.
