Data from footywire. To check the draft order (updated weekly) see the thread here.

This is a Dogs-specific version of the player contracts & statistics spreadsheet pinned to the top of this forum. It summarises your players' contract situations, experience, ages and heights. The data is from footywire, and the spreadsheet will update itself when footywire is updated. It may contain some errors, I do not have the ability to update them so we just have to deal with what footywire gives us. It's the best we can do for the moment.

According to this data, Western Bulldogs are:
- 13th tallest, averaging 187.4cm
- 17th heaviest, averaging 84.9kg
- 10th oldest with an average age of 24.1 years
- 11th most experienced, averaging 64.9 career games

Your picks in the first five rounds of the 2019 national draft are:
1st round pick (tied to Western Bulldogs - currently pick 9)
2nd round pick (tied to Western Bulldogs - currently pick 27)
3rd round pick (tied to St Kilda - currently pick 40)
3rd round pick (tied to Hawthorn - currently pick 44)
3rd round pick (tied to Western Bulldogs - currently pick 45)
5th round pick (tied to Western Bulldogs - currently pick 81)

To check the draft order (updated weekly) see the thread here.

Who retires, who is traded, and who is re-signed?

What do you see as the gaps in the list? How could those gaps be filled? Via trade or from the draft?

What will it take to get it all done, given the current trade and draft value on hand?

With Boyd retiring that should free up a bit of cap space, and there's plenty of picks here. What will you use it all on? Who do you need?

What is Patrick Lipinski’s market value?

Hard to say. Dogs wouldnt want to let him go for less than a second, and hes started performing better but wouldnt be worth huge levels. Classic example of worth more to the club than current market value. A big western bulldogs fan growing up including going to the 2016 GF as a supporter 2 months before getting drafted, unlikely he would leave unless we let him walk

Think there will be a significant number of list changes this offseason, potentially the biggest turnover of Bevo's era. We have a solid draft hand, but don't think we will use all the picks. We could potentially package the three third rounders to move up for another high pick with a team looking to drop back for father son/academy points. Or use them in trades.

3-4 draft picks, and a couple of others via trade/free agency I'm predicting. Most of those reaching the end of their contract are fringe players or players fighting for their futures.

Boyd - Retire
Picken - Retire
Dicko - We won't move him on, but if he decides to retire, could it be this season?
Williams, Porter, Webb, Roberts, Dale, Jong, Young, all potential delistings or trades.
Gardner - Predict he won't be retained

Dogs will target key defensive posts, small forwards, xfactor in the forward half, and leg speed/x factor in the middle

Will be targeting speed and elite ball use on a wing - Hill or Isaac Smith
Will be targeting a CHB/FB who can take the #1 key forward and im sure we would offer our first for a player like that. Bit of rumours on the Dogs and Carlton board that we are trying to pry a key blue away and we thought it may be Weitering but again would probably cost a lot.
Will be targeting a small forward pocket to apply pressure and give some X Factor (Bolton, Butler, Tippa, Martin)

Our midfield is the #1 in the league (gave the cats a bath)
Our forwardline cannot kick straight and at times is disfunctional but is coming together with some signs of improvement (Naughton and Schache)
Our backline smalls are quite good (JJ, Crozier, Caleb, Duyrea)
Our backline bigs need some improvement hence the need to target a key pillar.

In a good spot to build on but its a pretty key off season due to cap space and picks we have so we are going to be busy to trade.

What is Patrick Lipinski’s market value?
Bulldog fan growing up, loves the club. Would be hard to pry him away, housemates with Tim English and Aaron Naughton.

Probably got about 4 - 5 positions that we could look to filling this offseason.

Priority 1) KPD - Im not sure we are going to find one, options are certainly limited but its our biggest issue.
Priority 2) Outside Speed - Another quick wingman would be ideal for our midfield to feed the ball to. B.Hill, I.Smith, Langdon names we have been linked to so one of them would be nice. Should just pull the trigger on Hill and if needed his brother can be picked up to.Ideally one of them could play as a goal kciking forward.
Priority 3) Small forward - Too often our midfielders are pushed into this role and dont provide the goal scoring firepower nor the defensive pressure we need. Been linked to Mcdonald Tipungwuti and am sure we could look at Papley and Sam Gray as well.
Priority 4) KPF/Ruck - Solely looking at depth in this regard. Naughton and Schache will be a decent KPF pair for years to come but the depth is limited after that. Someone like Josh Jenkins would be ideal as he can kick goals, chip in with the ruck and also hes 31. We only need him for 2 years until our academy selection (top 5 pick predicted) has had a season on the list.

He was only drafted in 2016 at Pick 28 - his form this year has been fantastic when finally called up to the seniors after dominating in the VFL. Would hate to lose someone like him, and I'm sure there's no way we'd get "fair" value in a trade scenario. We couldn't ask for more than Hawks' second (currently Pick 26) since he hasn't played enough seniors, but I'd be extremely unhappy with losing him for that price. He's one of the rare players on our list with elite disposal by foot, including being one of our best shots on goal, and has shown the ability to accumulate when thrown in the middle. I'd compare him to someone like Daniel Giansiracusa. Would absolute hate to lose him, and I think it actually could have happened this year if he hadn't made his way into the side. At this point, I doubt he'd go anywhere

In terms of importance, I'd rate a small forward as a bigger need than outside speed. We still have guys like Cavarra and Vandermeer who are doing well in the VFL and could make their way into the side next year, and both were among the fastest players of the 2018 draft crop.

Otherwise, completely agree with your list. A quality KPD is an absolute must for us, but it seems like our most likely pickup will be someone with outside speed, having been strongly linked with Isaac Smith, Jack Martin and Brad Hill. Would love to get Papley, but seems like he's either staying at Sydney, or Carlton will get him.

They are fringe players....

Currently have picks 40, 42 and 43 (in addition to our first and second round picks).

Hopefully there are some clubs with F/S or NGA needs that we can deal with to turn them into something closer to the pointy end.

Won't happen, but imagine trading second round pick and a fringe player to creep back into the first round, and packaging all three thirds for someone in the late firsts looking to drop back. Can only dream of somehow landing 3 first round picks.

Butler from Richmond for a third has been discussed on another thread.
We could do worse, definitely need a small forward.

I don't expect us to take early picks to the draft this year after discussing trading for established players. Wouldn't be surprised if trading down next years' pick is also on the table.

Hawks could be interested in something similar to get Finn through F/S (likely late 1st-2nd)

Might be able to work Smith into that if he is keen to move as well. Looks like we may lose Bailey Williams back to Adelaide, likely for another pick in that area.

Could see us trading 40, 42 and 43 and the similar pick in that area for 26 and Smith. Works out that you basically get two second rounders worth of points back

You can bet your bottom dollar the dogs will be pushing to trade in either the hill bros or Martin for some indigenous support with Ugle-Hagan coming in 2021

We will take CCP this year too, late pick / rookie range NGA kid.
I'd look at Karl Amon too.
