Signed till 2021 and playing as an inside mid now. Not going anywhereBulldog fan growing up, loves the club. Would be hard to pry him away, housemates with Tim English and Aaron Naughton.
He was only drafted in 2016 at Pick 28 - his form this year has been fantastic when finally called up to the seniors after dominating in the VFL. Would hate to lose someone like him, and I'm sure there's no way we'd get "fair" value in a trade scenario. We couldn't ask for more than Hawks' second (currently Pick 26) since he hasn't played enough seniors, but I'd be extremely unhappy with losing him for that price. He's one of the rare players on our list with elite disposal by foot, including being one of our best shots on goal, and has shown the ability to accumulate when thrown in the middle. I'd compare him to someone like Daniel Giansiracusa. Would absolute hate to lose him, and I think it actually could have happened this year if he hadn't made his way into the side. At this point, I doubt he'd go anywhereWhat is Patrick Lipinski’s market value?
In terms of importance, I'd rate a small forward as a bigger need than outside speed. We still have guys like Cavarra and Vandermeer who are doing well in the VFL and could make their way into the side next year, and both were among the fastest players of the 2018 draft crop.Probably got about 4 - 5 positions that we could look to filling this offseason.
Priority 1) KPD - Im not sure we are going to find one, options are certainly limited but its our biggest issue.
Priority 2) Outside Speed - Another quick wingman would be ideal for our midfield to feed the ball to. B.Hill, I.Smith, Langdon names we have been linked to so one of them would be nice. Should just pull the trigger on Hill and if needed his brother can be picked up to.Ideally one of them could play as a goal kciking forward.
Priority 3) Small forward - Too often our midfielders are pushed into this role and dont provide the goal scoring firepower nor the defensive pressure we need. Been linked to Mcdonald Tipungwuti and am sure we could look at Papley and Sam Gray as well.
Priority 4) KPF/Ruck - Solely looking at depth in this regard. Naughton and Schache will be a decent KPF pair for years to come but the depth is limited after that. Someone like Josh Jenkins would be ideal as he can kick goals, chip in with the ruck and also hes 31. We only need him for 2 years until our academy selection (top 5 pick predicted) has had a season on the list.
This is a Dogs-specific version of the player contracts & statistics spreadsheet pinned to the top of this forum. It summarises your players' contract situations, experience, ages and heights. The data is from footywire, and the spreadsheet will update itself when footywire is updated. It may contain some errors, I do not have the ability to update them so we just have to deal with what footywire gives us. It's the best we can do for the moment.
According to this data, Western Bulldogs are:
- 13th tallest, averaging 187.4cm
- 17th heaviest, averaging 84.9kg
- 10th oldest with an average age of 24.1 years
- 11th most experienced, averaging 64.9 career games
Your picks in the first five rounds of the 2019 national draft are:
1st round pick (tied to Western Bulldogs - currently pick 9)
2nd round pick (tied to Western Bulldogs - currently pick 27)
3rd round pick (tied to St Kilda - currently pick 40)
3rd round pick (tied to Hawthorn - currently pick 44)
3rd round pick (tied to Western Bulldogs - currently pick 45)
5th round pick (tied to Western Bulldogs - currently pick 81)
To check the draft order (updated weekly) see the thread here.
Who retires, who is traded, and who is re-signed?
What do you see as the gaps in the list? How could those gaps be filled? Via trade or from the draft?
What will it take to get it all done, given the current trade and draft value on hand?
Did you seriously just suggest that Caleb Daniel is a fringe player? Prior to his injury, he would have been close to leading our best and fairest, and was our best candidate for All AustralianRoberts, daniels, jong and Dickson are surely not rfa?
They are fringe players....

Currently have picks 40, 42 and 43 (in addition to our first and second round picks).
Hopefully there are some clubs with F/S or NGA needs that we can deal with to turn them into something closer to the pointy end.
Butler from Richmond for a third has been discussed on another thread.Currently have picks 40, 42 and 43 (in addition to our first and second round picks).

Hawks could be interested in something similar to get Finn through F/S (likely late 1st-2nd)
We will take CCP this year too, late pick / rookie range NGA kid.You can bet your bottom dollar the dogs will be pushing to trade in either the hill bros or Martin for some indigenous support with Ugle-Hagan coming in 2021
