Re: Western Region Football League team

With Colts picking up all these quality players surely there is going to be a lot of unhappy blokes who will be missing out on playing ones everyweek.
Surely good for the short term but might bite you in the ass in the future!

That's why I mentioned GIBSON ( the best full forward to have played in this league, the goal kicking medal is named after him), MEMEDI ( butsza is second to Gibson as best full forward in Yarraville's glory days) and FROST ( arguebly the best that has played in this league) all these blokes played in the FDFL/WRFL and I'm sure you would not put Newman in the same light as these three. The above three were/are SUPERSTARS, maybe you should be the one updating your knowledge!., I'm just saying that people use this term to loosely now days.[/quote

Well raza i can tell you one thing i played alot against MEMEDI and yes he was an awesome player no doubt,i have also played with NEWMAN and watched him play elsewhere also and i rate him better than MEMEDI.
Now im sure you will say im biased and fair enough but newman has dominated OMFL rated the best league in victoria along with GVFL.
If newman played consistently in the wrfl for the next 5 yrs without injury will kick a hundred evrey year even with clarke still playing the guy is a freak on the field, hopefully this comes about as soon as this year but if not it will next year and dam that would be scary for opposition backmen with newman, clarke, brannan and winters what a forward line.

I Agree with you ROCK07, he is a very good player but at the moment no superstar, maybe in 5 years, that was my argument. From what I've heard he wont be with you guys this year, is this true?.

I heard from a very good source that both players will not be pulling on a Colts jumper this year. Believe it when I see it.

I said before and ill say it again Newman is a SUPERSTAR just as are the other guys and if we went back there would be many others too. And ill contiune to say it as ive seen him and played with him over the last 7 years in all different comps and possies. One thing the SUPERSTAR is missing is a premiership at his junior club and l had many dissucsions on this topic (with some ending in anger) with him and its one thing that he wants, so if the SUPERSTAR comes on board its going to go along way to help the hard task of going back to back.
Have you seen him play at all or heard how he has played over the last few years at different comps??

think the two best ruckmen in the comp would becoming first and second julia and venna.congrats to sunshine on there win against the colts wanted the four points more.obe1 I read on one of your threads that you said what hurt the colts was mcbroom going down in the first qtr and taylor playing fwd the game I saw taylor look like he sneak in to the fwd line off the wing and should of had three goals in the first qtr but cost himself with bad kicking like twenty other colts players and then went back to the backline.what cost the colts is there disaplen because you can't win matchs by giving 50 meter penatys and geting sent off leaving 17 verses 18.

Agree in parts with you bronco charlie,

My piont with taylor is that he is so dependable down back, he holds them together with he's determination and endevour. Think back to the starting back six against hoppers and then compare them to the game against Sunshine. Also my piont is made more so when you consider there was no Webb in the side to support squashy taylor

No question Julier is ahead at this stage, noticed both the League general manager and he's offsider at the game last weekend. According to them , they made the trip especially to see him.( heards lots of good reports from the martians ) so they thought they had better familiarise themselves with how he goes about it.

As a member of an O&M club i can tell you that Newman has in no way dominated in this league! Very good player but has not dominated!

Re: Western Region Football League team

Got a phone call this morning that a certain Division 1 club that won on the weekend may loose the 4 points from Round 8 for playing an ineligble player in the seniors.

The player in question has not been cleared correctly and WRFL headquarters were aware of it Friday afternoon but he still played Saturday.................................

More will happen as the week progresses

Would you be talking about Spotswood?, or would you be talking sh1t, like you were with the Croft signing to Hoppers?.

agree with you think taylor is more suitable down back.ask you this chewbaccker you have seen the last two games alot of moves made both games with the hoppers moves paying off and the sunshine moves not.do you think the colts are over coach and less moves should be made.

BLONCO27,
i can tell you have no idea you big mouth ,The colts over coached what a joke.I know ellis and clarky personly and after playing off the last two year and only losing one game this year, with the resources they have had available to them, im sure they both know what their doing.
Just because they have a loss no need to become all negative about whats going on at the club, but you must be a negative person always blaming someone else for ther mistakes in life.
Maybe if you look at things for a whole you would see that during any game of football moves are made for many reasons sometimes they work sometimes they dont, in the end its up to the player to perform when put in that position. im sure the colts will bounce back but you just keep your mouth shut in future.

You are starting to get backed into a corner regarding your true identity D-mac, your relationship with Mr Barbituates and your reference to Sunshine is narrowing the field. Thought you may have been one of the ex-kealba guns that are running around out in the far west at first. But have since changed my mind, lets have some more info , so we guide the colts boys in the right direction.:)
