Western Australian State Cricket Team: Treble Winners. Again

Maybe another bowler, with Cartwright/Turner able to bowl, Short misses and play...gee the bowling looks poor though. I can't even pick the 3 other bowlers I'd play with Mackin.

Literally missing Dorf, Coulter-Nile, Mitch Marsh, Agar, Paris, Richardson. Not good.
Only 7 batsmen/keepers named. So with Hilton I wouldn't be surprised to see them go the three quicks and Short.

They always planned to rest him for this game, given the short turnaround. Hopefully see him in the last few games.
Too busy on international duty now!

This is going to have to be the right thread - does anyone know where you can find the contract status for Scorchers BBL squad. You would think some of our fringe players, Bancroft, Cartwright, even an Ash Turner who didn't get a hit in the last couple of matches would be targeted by other franchises with better playing opportunities.

Can't really see those guys leaving.

We're more likely to lose bowlers.

Sam Whiteman's broken finger is worse than first thought and he is unlikely to play for the remainder of the season. It looks as if he'll miss up to three months after scans revealed the extent of the problem. It's believed Whiteman broke his finger while keeping in the BBL final but decided to ignore the pain and open up the Scorchers' innings with Michael Klinger.

13 of the Scorchers' players from this year are already signed for next season, including Shaun and Mitch Marsh, Mitchell Johnson and Jhye Richardson. It's believed the other nine are mostly the up and coming young talent that are already part of the squad.

Very unfortunate, but with the Shield season pretty much done for us anyway it gives Inglis a good chance to establish himself.

I don't rate Inglis but he'll probably play the rest of the season. Pretty unfortunate for Whiteman though, was hoping he could have a good end to the Shield season, put himself in another "A" series and maybe give himself a chance of Australian selection but injury has gotten in the way again.

Yeah he'd be pretty close to getting a shot in Australian squad of some sort.

Pretty awful first day starting back up in the shield.

Two absolute last-gasp wins in a row now.

The batting obviously isn't quite there yet, but it feels like the sides gelling a bit better than earlier in the year - particularly with a fit Mackin looking like the effective long-term replacement for Hoges.
