Forever 303*Davis was the other opener.
He was opening at the start then moved to 3 after his first year. Never batted outside the top 4.

What happened? He was thereabouts, wouldn't say he was a regular though.
Davis is a sad case of what might have been. After a long slow burn, he turned into a run machine and then copped his unfortunate slice of luck that finished his cricketing career.
Didn't Michael Swart also open or play at first drop for a couple seasons?
What happened?
Swart still plays internationals for the Dutch.Around a season or two. Just one of several clowns who play at Joondalup.
Broke his finger quite badly which saw him miss an entire season. After that he was delisted.

All good, got him confused with Ben CooperNo, he played several lead up games to the 2016 Twenty20 World Cup but was dropped for the actual tournament, was told his services were no longer required. Since then he hasn't played a game for them.
http://www.perthnow.com.au/sport/fo...s/news-story/79527ad51f9a1589eaded9ccfb96ede0He has also watched the Netherlands cricket team from afar since helping close mate and fellow ex- WA cricketer Michael Swart get a gig over there.
Campbell will employ a “no door is shut” policy on his arrival, which includes Swart, 34, who fell out of favour with the Dutch side before last year’s Twenty20 World Cup.
“If he’s playing well and he’s fit enough and healthy enough,” Campbell said.
“I still don’t understand why he wasn’t selected, I believe his numbers said he was clearly one of their best players.”
Sounds like a good thing to me. The fewer players playing for Australia gives us a better chance at domestic success next season. Not good signs for WA
No players selected in Champions Trophy squad

Likely to lose 2-3 players off National Contracts – puts strain on WACA Salary Cap to fit in Coulter-Nile, SMarsh potentially?
Only Josh Inglis (of 17 players) selected in National Performance squad over winter
Are we in a rut?
Or do we have a glutton of rising stars on the periphery/next to take their spots (Turner, Bancroft, Hilton, Whiteman, Behrendorff etc)
Easy to say coming from a state that has dominated the Shield for some time.Your view of the purpose of first class cricket is completely wrong

And SMarsh cut, despite still likely being the first reserve batsman in case of injury. I can actually see Cartwright playing at number six on Australian pitches but I can't see Agar playing anything but the odd T20.Cartwright and Agar both land CA contracts
