Playing in the wet has been a hindrance for us. This year we ave faired better but all things even we play better in the dry. We have a marking forward line so Parlap should be moved down back. Maybe bring in smith, albeit with a fine and even/or Macca. I reckon Sandi goes alright in the wet with big knocks and body contact, Jlo not so.

West coast have more midfielders so it should favour them but it might slow them down to our level. They rely on pinpoint supply so that should be out. The worst thing about the weather is that the crowd becomes a factor. If the freo boys can motivate themselves then this can be ruled out.

Anyway, wet weather rules out any normal discussion as its a bit like playing Sydney where u play something other than football.

The team with the most passion should win. We have more to play for but Westcoast step up a notch for a derby. Thank god for Heath Black and Josh Carr.

All in all I reckon its still an even game but I hate to see such an important game as the derby played in the wet as its not a true indication of who is better.

Big front passed through at about 2pm, about 3-4 hours earlier than predicted earlier in the week.

If you look at the radar, it seems that about 250km behind the front, there is no more rain. Maybe the radar can't see it, maybe there'll be more coming later, but... sticking my (maybe soon to be very wet) neck out... it will be dry tonight. Wet ground yes, but no heavy rain during the game.

With no rain, Freo by 25-35 points. With rain it negates our superior forward set up and brings in their scragging style. Is worth about 5 goals to them in such conditions and will make the game a toss up now.

I hate Friday night games. I have to open the AFL site live scores and listen to some skethcy, static filled commentary on the radio and sit here in a nervous wreck

Surely they've got some wrecks up there that are a little bit more liveable? You must be doing well to get the internet in there -- front seat or back?
