1 Barry Rowlings to Richmond for petty cash in 1979
2 Brett O'Farrell from Sydney for pick 4 in 1998 draft.
3 Justin Crawford from Sydney for David McEwan & pick 17 in 1996 draft
4 Gary Ablett Snr to Geelong for $60,000
5 Simon Minton-Connell from Sydney for pick 21 in 1994 draft.

Cameron Wood from Brisbane for pick 14 in 2007 still makes me feel sick thinking about it. Could have taken one of Robbie Tarrant, Harry Taylor, Alex Rance or Callan Ward with that pick. What could have been!

IIRC Saints got Aaron Hamill for the measly price of Sam Cranage and Luke Livingstone, but I think Livingstone was a high draft pick, so maybe that wasn't such a bad trade for Carlton, more a bad draft pick. Still, Hamill was pretty handy for us, just a shame he wasn't injured so much.

Saints have had some *very* poor trades in the past, including the Lovett/Stewart ones mentioned before, so it's a relief when we actually come out of a trade at least breaking even.

we were always taking dusty. we wanted martin or scully. swans offered us there 2 first rounders that year for pick 3 so basically jetta/rohan for dusty

If McMahon missed and Melbourne still beat Fremantle in round 20, Richmond finish last with a record of 4-1-17 while Melbourne finish 15th with a record of 5-17, Richmond get pick 1 and Melbourne pick 2 with no priority pick due to both teams winning more than 4 games

Thanks for clarifying, didn't realise it wasn't a trade but couldn't remember how he ended up there. Didn't realise they signed Naish, knew they were interested. Don't remember Niash doing much after this happened so it stuck in my mind as beingone we got wrong.

good lord he was awful. But he did play some games for you. We used pick #35 to recruit someone called Steven Owen who IIRC was no good, constantly injured, and never played seniors.

Giving Geelong pick 20 for Peter Street (who was going to be delisted anyway) wasn't smart, and back in the day we gave up pick 9 for Alan Jakovich who played about 11 games for us then disappeared.

We swapped that pick for David Haynes, if it makes you feel any better.
