the crows hierachy is.
Crying because they had to fly to melbourne for the tribunal charge. Even tho they could of done a video link.

The crows said themselves "we didnt want to do that because we wanted to make the tribunal know we were serious in getting Nigel off"...then they whinge about having to pay money for flights. You cant have it both ways.

How can you say "we are gonna fly over to show we are serious" yet whinge abuot paying the money.

The crows hierachy whinge to bloody often. If its not seating at the MCG its victorias anti-crows attitude, if its not that then its having to pay money for a flight to melbourne.

I mean of course its gonna cause havoc to your bank account isnt it...i mean youll only make $1.99 million this year instead of $2 million.

I find it quite pathetic.
If they didnt wanna pay the money - do the link up

Well Macca we tried the video link last time and it f*cked up.

And they weren't complaining about flying to Melbourne, they were complaining that the charge should have been dropped in the first place, and the fact that they flew to Melbourne and the hearing lasted about 1 minute.

If it had been a proper charge and there was a normal hearing (rather than a summary dismissal that should have come from the video review), then you wouldn't hear a peep.

BTW be a shame if Wanganeen and Burgoyne (sp?) were ousted for next week... lol :)

Garth

Macca, I'm sure we won't hear a peep from the PAPs complaining about the two video reports on Wangas and Burgoyne????

And didn't I post a thread on the Power Board about them squealing about another issue a while ago, and was told to worry about my team and leave your lot alone?

People in glass houses.......

Macca, my sentiments exactly, as per my previous thread 'Adelaide Crying Poor!'

I agree that the video link up is not the best but at the end of the day the Crows had a choice:

Video Linkup or Fly to Melbourne

They decided to fly to Melbourne and they knew it would incur a cost no matter how silly the charge may have been.

The video linkup may have taken a little more time than sitting at the tribunal but when you think about it is really a minute amount of time for the video linkup considering that airfares have to be organised and then you have the flight over and back.

If anything the Nigel Smart probably just wanted to build up his frequent flyer points a bit more before he retires at the end of the year.

-----------

Just on another issue, why is it that when a Crows supporter is losing an argument to a Port supporter (eg. topjars in my thread 'Adelaide Crying Poor') they have to bring up at least we have two premierships!

It had no relevance to the subject at all. But I suppose there are those that have nothing much else to hold onto, life must be such a drag!

I don't know why this is such a big issue, we could have just used the video link or flown over there. It was a blantantly frivolous charge, and was a waste of time so we're asking for compo. Whether this is the right thing to do I don't know but who really cares?? Let's try and squeeze the AFL dry!!

And as if Port aren't just as big whingers as us, all I ever hear is how the draw is sooo unfair for them, boo hoo, and they always complain about the umpires (I think last year Mark Williams sent many letters complaining about the umpiring). Every team does it, let's not lose sight of that.

nope...both were there and should of been cited. Good decision by the umpire. If the tribunal is consistent then both will get 1 week...Wanganeen maybe 2.

DOesnt matter anyway...we will still win the showdown without them. Wakelin and Cocky back in - easy.

And at least we wont ask for any compensation from the AFL if we fly over for the tribunal.

Yeah Brian Cunnigham sent a letter to the AFL asking why Port had to have the hardest road trip of all AFL clubs three years in a row. Not that it matters as we have proven this year that we are just as good away from footy park as we are at footy park.

As for wanting compensation - what the hell for?? If the charge took 30 seconds to get dropped...then the cideo link would of taken 2 minutes at the most.

You had the choice
Fly over and paying for airfares...or
videolink up with no charge that may take 5 minutes longer.

John Reid CHOSE to fly over saying "we just didnt want to take the chance"
well...you you chose that - you should pay for it

stupid charge or not...its pathetic that your wanting compo when you had other options.

ANyway - if the video conference fuked up then bigger fool crows for choosing a crap company to set it up.

I mean come on...i know how to do Video Conferencing...i coulda set it up for free :D and i know mine dont heck up

Yeah but what if the link stuffed up again?? It could have been delayed until the next day and Smart would have missed another training session. Better not take the risk. As for why ask for compo, because there shouldn't have been a charge in the first place, stupidest report I've seen in a while, but we still had to defend it and we didn't want to take any chances with the link.

We shouldn't have even had to defend it, so we're trying to get compo for the time and effort we wasted on such a ridiculous report. We didn't necessarily need to fly there but at the time we didn't want to take any risks, and in hindsight maybe we shouldn't have. Doesn't mean we can't try and get compensation for it.

Bangwagon.

bandwagon??
what - do you think youve found out some scathing news about how i used to be a crow supporter?

well your wrong. I did state that when i first came here too.

What is wrong with swapping?
Adelaide were a South Australian team in the national competition...why would i not support them? especially seeing as i was 10 at the time.
Being a Port supporter as well...why would i not quit supporting the crows when port were given the second licence?
Its not like a swapped in 97...i stopped supporting the crows at the end of 1994. Thats when Port were given the second licence...December 2 1994 i think...and that was the day i got rid of all my crows stuff.

There were plenty of Port supporters that supported the crows and that stopped supprting them when they were allowed in the competiton.

I dont understand your point about 'bandwagon'...how is following hte Power jumping on the bandwagon?? Youd think if i was a bandwagon jumper i would of gone back to the crows after hte 97 premiership wouldnt you?
Didnt think of that?

no - thats because accusing me of being a bandwagoner is bloody pathetic and laughable

Jars, how the hell do you get on a Port bandwagon if you've followed them from their inclusion in the AFL? I'm with Macca on this one.

Macca, I can't believe you barracked for the Crows at all. I stopped barracking for anyone (AFL) when the Crows took OUR rightfull spot in 1991.

He has done either one of two things

1) jumped on and off the Crows bandwagon
2) jumped on the Power bandwagon

Actually he has probably done both.

If a third side comes in, what will he do then????

You are either Port of Crows - never both.

As far as your rightful spot goes - since when does Judas deserve a glowing place in the histroy of football in this State????

Unless the third team in the AFL is the Port Magpies then i can 100% say i will never stop supporting the Power.

Joke for the day

A mortician had a new apprentice who was learning the embalming ropes.
He walked into the embalming room where a cadaver was lying on the table. Thinking he knew enough now to begin the procedure without his boss, he began examining the body. He rolled it over and to his amazement there was a cork in its a.s.s. Mystified, he pulled it out, and immediately heard:-“We will never stop stop stop.until were top top top......” come out the guys butt.
Startled by what had happened, he shoved the cork back into the cadaver and ran up the stairs to find his mentor. “Sir, you’ve got to come down and help me, I’ve just seen something I can’t believe.”
Annoyed by the naivete of his assistant, he said OK and followed him downstairs. “There, look at the cork in the a.r.s.e. of that body, I couldn’t imagine what it was doing there so I pulled it out. Please you do it.”
The mortician was a bit surprised to see the cork, too, so he walked to the table and removed the cork, and sure enough:- “ We will never stop stop stop until were top top top .......” began to play.
Exasperated, he replaced the cork in its appointed position, turned to his assistant and said: “What’s so surprising about that? I’ve heard thousands of a.s.s.h.o.l.e.s sing that song.”

You probably weren't old enough.

Wrong. Im a Port supporter - now they are in the AFL i am not going to support anyone else...i have no need to. Why would i? My favourite team is in the AFL...and as i said if Port Magpies are allowed in the AFL as Port Magpies i would support both them and Port Power...but that will never never never happen so i dont have to worry about that.

I went for Collingwood before Adelaide as they were black and white and the magpies - which is what almost every port supporter did.
Im sure if Sturt were allowed in the AFL a lot of Sturt supporters would stop going for Adelaide and go for Sturt....same with Norwood fans as well.

Who did you used to support before Adelaide came in?

Dont know about losing an argument Snott... but I won $10 bucks betting that Wanganeen would get off his charge for tripping:p

Dont ask me why? Just figured he has always been the umpires friend
