I think the opposition has improved a tad in 2003 ! That's the point.
Yes but Collinmgwood lost those games so the WA teams improvement could hardly make any difference could it? Aside from which the likelyhood is that the Melbourne WCE game and/or the Gabba match would have been the ones replaced by WA games given the deals the AFL has in place with Melbourne clubs to play Collingwood.

Vintage, whatever you think of Brisbane's efforts through the home and away season, one thing is very clear.

They are far and away the best side in the league at winning premierships, and thats all anyone ever remembers.

You think Collingwood supporters think they played on Sat like they have all year. Yes they were f**king pathetic in the G/F but that is 1 of 3 games (the others being Anzac Day and against Hawthorn) that were shockers. They won 15 so they obviously havent played that way all year. LMAO. If they played like last Sat all year they would have finished 16th.

Exactly taff, they were pathetic.

So you think ANYONE would have played better ("they would have finished 16th")? Well, maybe so.

Your co-supporters,or some of them, can't or won't see this.

It's got nothing to do with any subjective opinion of mine tfcha2, Brisbane lost about 6 games including a final, and that's a lot for a premiership team. Far more than most recent premiers.

When you say "they are the best..." I thnik you're talking about the CLUB. My comments were confined to the 2003 TEAM.

The 2003 team won the premiership, and I don't want to take anything away from them. They were deserving winners. I just think it's laughable that he so-called experts are now claiming that there was some huge gap between Brisbane and the rest of the comp. this year, when twenty four hours before the GF, it was difficult to find anyone in the media tipping Brisbane to win! The "gap" wasn't so obvious then apparently.

Collingwood

Every one has talked about how good Collingwood were, when they beat Adelaide, Sydney, Essendon, Brisbane and Port Adelaide before the Grand Final, but something that hasn't been mentioned that they only played one of those games on a Saturday afternoon( Port Adelaide). their 3 worst performances for the year, Essendon round 5, Brisbane round 19 and Brisbane GF were all played on nice sunny afternoon. Essendon can't play in the wet and Collingwood can't play when the sun shines. Maybe Eddie should talk to the AFL about having the GF played on a Saturday Night. This could happen if Nine gets the TV rights the next time around. If you don't believe me, look at when the NRL GF is being played. Sunday night. Who has the TV rights for the NRL? NINE.

Yep, there is no doubt in my mind that Collingwood are wet weather sloggers. The GF merely reinforced that.

Yet Carlton are still a rabble and Kouta's still an overpaid cripple.
And you posted that in response to an Essendon supporter because ...... ?

The part of the game where Brisbane looked most dominant was when it rained in the second quarter. Collingwood play much better in the dry than in the wet. I was praying for a fine day so Collingwood could use their run to better effect. The preformance against Hawthornm in the wet was as bad as any this year, including the GF. The truth is Collingwood don't play well in the wet. They aren't as bad as Essendon but who is? Carlton even beat Collingwod in the wet last year. In the last two tyears Collinghwood have beaten Brisbane once under the roof and once on a dry night at the G.

Yep, I thought wet weather would favour Brisbane more this year. Collingwood relied much more on their running game in 2003 than 2002, while I thought Brisbane appeared tired and perhaps would have preferred an in-close game.

can you believe the number of new members who signed on AFTER the GF????? that takes some nerve

Actually, I signed on before the GF, but that isn't really important, or relevant is it? What is important is that my team have performed during my support of them, as apposed to yours. 1990 was 13 years ago, and you are only as good as your last game.

Pie fans just face it, your team got smashed on the day.

Irrespective of how your team performed throughout the year or whether they won in sunshine or in the rain......success is measured in permierships and your team did not measure up this year.
