Just came back from Colonial Stadium, and am still stoked about the great result! Honestly, I thought we were gone halfway through the last quarter. Even though we were only a couple of goals down, the Hawks had all the momentum.

Great to see Lappin playing as well, Keating back to his best, our back-line looking stronger than ever and, in my mind, a fantastic BOG performance from Chris Scott, who was solid in the last quarter, and provided plenty of run out of defence. And one great moment after the siren sounded, when Scott immediately turned and pointed to the Brisbane fans behind the goals, as if it say 'For you' or something like that.
Voss and McDonald, as well, motioning to us fans as they left the ground. Truly great stuff.

One problem though. We dominated that game and yet came very close to losing it. Why? Because every time we went forward, instead of looking for a leading forward, the ball would just be bombed long into the forward-line, and the Hawks often made us pay on the rebound. This has got to improve over the regular season if we're going to do as well as we can.

I knew we were in for a good night when White ran down Chick in the 1st 1/4.

On concerns about entry into the forward line - we are much better at this than a couple of years ago. However we need crumbers to be at the fall of the ball every time! It's no use kicking into a flooded backline where you are out numbered unless you aim to someone with ground support. If there is none carry the ball into about 40 & have a shot. I know it's easy to say but good teams have a knack of creating space in the forward line & we must improve in this area.

Our defence is great & midfield good as always.

Go Lions back to back wins at Footy park!!!

Great game, poor crowd.

I don't think we dominated that game. We played well enough, at a number of different stage to win. The same thing happened against Cartlon. Very similar to how we played against Melbourne (at Colonial) and Hawthorn (at the MCG) last season (there were a couple of other similar games from 2000 as well). Getting out ahead early with a decent lead, only to let the opposition come back at us. Only this time we were good enough to win.

I don't think we dominated though.
