How to beat Port?

Having al ook at the Port list they have so many runners all over the ground, but very few key position players who can hurt particularly with Lade and Tredrea out.

Given there lack of quality key position players and Micks injury, this has to be the perfect opportunity for Shannon Watt to make an impression and gain experience in front of a big crowd.

We must close down the mid field area with pressure, especially if King and Stevo get rubbed out. If we can do that Roos by 4 to 5 goals.

Any thoughts?

Go ROOS

Cheers

I'm not so much interested in whether we win or not, but how the young players will perform in front of what will be a very hostile atmosphere. Anyone who has seen the Port vs Adelaide games will know that whenever the crowd gets behind Port, they seem to lift a gear. With a Grand Final spot on offer, the Port fans will be out and they will be loud. We know that our experienced players can do it, but I'm keen to see how the likes of Harris, Rawlings, Petrie, Sinclair and co. do.

If Port didn't lose Tredre and Lade, I'd be tempted to pick them due to their home ground advantage. But with them out, I think we can win enough of the midfield to get it forward enough times to get a winning score.

Shinners

You should care if we win or not.

What about the prize money and GF television exposure etc.

We must think the big picture!!

Cheers

Agree shack....in terms of money, we do need the win, and for that reason alone, I want us to win.

But I guess I was talking in more of the general quality of the football by our players...there's no 4 points on offer....I'm just keen to see what they can and cannot do when the pressure is on.

NORTH will win easily.
Geelong fixed up Lade & Monty for you just to make it slighty easier

How do you people think about Lange playing at fullback. He's got the height, is reasonably strong, is reasonably quick over the ground once he gets going and can bang the ball a mile when he kicks.

McCartney is better at CHF, Archer is a fraction short for a key position week in week out.

With Mick out I don't see to many other options.

I'm a big Langey fan, I think he does better on the forward line, too slow for the backline.

But you never know, if he gets a chance, he might just surprise us.

He's not that tall thou, 186cms I think.

I can't see Lange on the backline (for now anyway). Love to see Mark Hilton get a go in higher company though.

I also think Adam is better in the forward line and if my memory serves me correctly it is his preferred position. I am all for giving Mark Hilton the opportunity he deserves.
