Just looking through my AFL 2006 book and going through a few of the better performed player from the TAC Cup and Aus Champs and just seeing if a few of the junior footy fans know where these guys are playing and how they're going and whether they're still a chance to play AFL footy in the future:

Fortunato Caruso (Morrish Medalist and top 10 goal kicker from TAC Cup 2005)
Leroy Jetta (AA u/18 Forward pocket from WA in 2005)
Gavin Urquhart (AA u/18 interchange from Qld in 2005)
Bill Driscoll (runner up Morrish Medalist and top 5 goal kicker from TAC Cup 2005)
Ricky Delphine
Brad Kelleher (TAC Cup team of the year Fullback) Also kicked 42 goals for the year starting as a forward
Jacob McGuane (TAC CUp team fo the year CHB)

and any other top players from the TAC CUp, National Champs from the last couple of years would be great to know. Sometimes these guys get lost as soon as they get overlooked for AFL football.

Caruso is still playing TAC Cup & Vic Metro emergency???
Jetta, Urquhart & Delphine (Vic Country) are playing in the U18 Champs.

Caruso, Jetta, Urquhart, and Delphine are still playing in their respective comps. All are eligible this year.

I remember Driscoll committing to North Ballarat in the VFL late last year along with a host of Rebel teammates, but I don't think that eventuated. Kelleher is playing VFL with Box Hill, whilst McGuane is playing for Colac seniors in the local GFL.

Is this guy any chance of playing AFL footy??

Last year was a sensational year. Any guy that can play in the elite local Under 18 competition, kick 39 goals from 12 games then move to Fullback and finish up as FB in the team of the year must be close to AFL standard....??

Was it just a flash in the pan or an early bloomer??

BT Kelleher has been OK at Box Hill with out being great.

I suspect that he may need a fair deal of improvement before Clubs would consider him. But agree this time last he looked a strong chance to be drafted.

Have seen Kelleher playing for Eastern Ranges and for Box Hill. 2005 was an exceptional year for him, having played Vic Metro, then being named in the TAC Cup team of the year and finally invited to draft camp in Canberra where he was interviewed by at least five AFL clubs and performed well in the vertical leap category. He has played six senior and four reserve games at Box Hill in 2006. Of these games, has only been selected as a forward twice and has scored 4 and 8 goals in those matches. He is a magnificent kick of the footy and is probably as good a kick or better than any player on Hawthorn's senior list. I would expect him to be a strong contender in the 2006 draft, provided he can maintain his current form and perform well in the Box Hill senior team. Seems to be finding some good form at the moment and will need to finish off the season strongly if he is to be considered again in the draft.

McGuane has been dominating for Colac in GFL, a recent shoulder injury interupting his year but is now back on track. Is still being called by clubs to come and have some VFL games.

I reckon he and Cook will be Rookie Drafted by us this year.

Driscoll did commit and would have played except for a severe injury jumping into shallow water over summer. He is out for the year.

Hmm, Hawthorn usually only rookie-lists one Box Hill-listed player. Both would have to stand out to have a chance, IMHO.
