About five hours into Silent Hill 2 Remake now…

Not to boast but I haven’t been startled once. I guess am just not that easily scared anymore.

Glad it’s become available on PS Plus. Very good game.

Only 2 games have given me jump scares

1) Resident Evil 2 on the original Playstation

2) Arkham Asylum..... and that's mostly because of the system shut down later on during the game. Being on the Xbox 370 I assumed RROD had happened.

Funny thing is, I sometimes forget (when I haven't played it for an x amount of time) so whenever I reach that part in the game and it hapoens I get antsy thinking I have to reboot lol.

I had a go at SH2 Remake yesterday aboutc30 minutes of gane time and all I really did was go down a...hill and go f a key to unlock the door/gate to get to the next part.

Founfd it a bit slow and environment very foggy!

Went back ro Alan Wake 2, have sped through the game on PS5 in comparison to my pc playthrough where I barely made progress for hours.

It was released yesterday.
I thought the date was US time and it only released at 4am today?

Either way I'm smashing through GOW Rangarok before i start it

Hmm, could have been.

I might pick it up today.

Have been playing F1 25, but it seems to be screwed. Built my car up to a point I'm consistently competing for wins and all of a sudden I'm getting smashed and can barely keep up with middle tier teams. Seems to be an issue with development that AI teams can progress further. Just about ready to **** it off.

played the previous couple of F1 games

They were good but I get bored of them after one - one and half seasons

Feel like I can say that about most sport games tbh.

I'm usually the same, but I was enjoying building up a team from a backmarker to contender. Seems it's pretty bugged though. Which is a shame.

Thought the steam version unlocked at midnight, nope install and playing as I type :D

Have ordered the physical version. Have to wait until December but happy with that, Christmas present to myself haha and there seems like there's a lot of niggly issues to be patched, and bigger ones like no private multiplayer matches which they've already said they’re adding.

One thing I hope they add is modern AI in the arcade ports. Mortal Kombat AI openly cheats (reads player inputs) making it ridiculously hard and the only way to win is to exploit the AI. Make sense I guess for arcade games (they want you to keep pumping in your loose change) but not so much in a home release. Make it an optional mode so that the unaltered arcade experience is still there but give us a fun single player alternative too. Console ports aren't as bad in the AI stakes, but apart from that they're a lesser experience (graphics, sound etc etc etc) across the board.

Also hope they add other versions over time. The PC ports, Amiga ports, N64 ports, Mortal Kombat Gold etc.

Hi all, does anybody have any recommendations for me as non-gamer?? (sorry if there's another thread for this)
Never really grew up with video games at all, but I'm getting a bit bored with some other hobbies and I'm interested in gaming to let off some steam.
  • I'm really into good storytelling so anything that focuses on that would be good.
  • I'm quite busy with work/life/other hobbies, so it'd be nice to have something I can pick up and let go (an hour here and there before bed or whenever). I wouldn't want to have to sink ages into it.
  • OK with spending a bit of money, but I wouldn't want something super expensive or requiring crazy equipment.
  • Something beginner friendly that isn't gonna make me feel like an idiot for not knowing what I'm doing. Would be nice to get a sense that I'm learning as I go along.
Hopefully there is something that'd suit me. Would be great if anyone has some ideas, cheers.

I'd like a second collection of Deadly Alliance, Deception, Armageddon.

Not sure they could do anything with the arcade AI, from what I've read it's by design and at best if it were edited/modded it may as well be like a training dummy where it wouldn't react or attack at all.

I beat MK 1 & 2 arcade so far (only as Sub-Zero... he's my main like Ken is in every SF game lol).

I'm enjoying it, but from other forums it seems the pc version doesn't have as much lag with controller movements as the other platforms.

Wasn't fussed about the online portion (pretty much knew it'd get botched in some way, Digital Eclipse aren't known for their online functionality in their classic range of games (knew this from their version of Frogger on the Xbox 360.... and the TMNT Collection from a few years ago). I'm ok with that as MK is more of an in person multiplayer games for myself and mates.

I'd give it 4/5 - nearly 12 hours spent on Steam so far across 2 and a bit days. In contrast I've spent 12 hours on MK 11 in the past fortnight.

Your first 2 points don't really align when it comes to gaming. Games with a good story tend to be 20+ hours just for the main story and then add more on if you are a completionist or get a game with DLC. Also, do you have a console or are you planning to play on PC?

depends what hardware, but i’d recommend persona 5 royal (even if it’s weebshit). it’s by no means a short game but it’s really easy to pickup/put down & i found it to be very well structured and well explained.
