The DC shows seem to continually outshine the movies - a bit like the inverse of the Marvel world. Peacemaker was really enjoyable as well.

I have enjoyed most Batman related content to be fair. The latest Batman (with Pattinson) was an enjoyable 'origin' film with a new director and set of characters.

The Penguin extending on that universe has suddenly really levelled it up IMO.

I tapped out of Marvel at Captain America 3 and never returned again. I couldn't tell you what's been good and what hasn't.

I got a bit further - all the way to the end of the main Thanos arc. However I turned the third Antman off after half an hour, watched the first episode of the Falcon show and wondered why the compelling storyline was a bank loan and got bored at the first episode of the Loki second series and am pretty much done with it. There’s only so much blood you can squeeze from a stone.

Great news.

Starting this Sunday November 3, Tokyo Vice season 2 on SBS Viceland @ 9:35pm

Stars Ken Watanabe and Ansel Elgort about police, crime reporting, criminals and where they all mix and match in the Hostess clubs of Tokyo.

Really top notch tv. If you like crime drama's with an edge, this is for you.
Been eagerly awaiting the second season.

First season was really good.

Currently watching "Only Murders in the Building" lighted hearted show with Steve Martin , Martin Short and Selena Gomez. Surprisingly engaging.

The Bear on Disney. Finally got around to watching it and it's pretty good.

I know they are meant to be quality movies and TV shows, but it honestly just felt like too much.

Captain America was my favourite (in regards to the backstory and the films), but I was so confused during Cival War because a bunch of characters I'd never heard of were suddenly important parts of the story.

So here I was, looking forward to 'Captain America 3', and subsequently having no idea what was happening because I hadn't kept up with every other Marvel film in between.

One of the best shows on TV at the moment is Lioness (Zoe Saldana, Morgan Freeman, Nicole Kidman). Season 2 is underway. I will say though, Kidman's botox lips are a little out of place. She really is a pretty average actor. I know she has an Academy Award and quite a few other gongs, but everything I have seen her in lately is ordinary. Watching her just leaves me flat. Just no emotion.

BTW, Marvel lost me when Thor turned into a piss-head.

New show from Paramount.

The Agency starring Michael Fassbender and Richard Gere. I cannot recall seeing Gere in a TV show before.
You could probably predict the theme of the show given the title. Fassbender plays an agent, code-named Martian, suddenly called in from the cold. Gere is the London station chief (I think I have that right). Then we have a developing plot line about agents being killed and internal investigations.

Worth a look.

The Fassbender assassin movie was pretty good so I am sure he will do the job in this series also.

For Dune fans, there is a series called Dune : Prophecy on Max. Travis Fimmel and Mark Addy (GOT) have consistent roles. Takes place 10,000 years before the time of the Movie Dune. Now that is a bloody long time for a prequel, but apparently sets up the Bene Gesserit sect. Inspired by (not based on) Great Schools of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin Anderson.

Have yet to watch, so cannot recommend.

Just watched ‘Missing You’ on Netflix - personally wouldn’t recommend unless you were a big fan of the source material. Bit contrived and full of plot holes.

Also saw Conclave at the movies last week during some downtime - highly recommend!

Have watched the first 3 episodes of The Pitt on Binge - really good stuff. It's a HBO show so if you are a bit squeamish you'll need to turn away at points because the surgical/medical scenes can be quite intense (I get a bit of whiplash while watching) but if you liked ER or shows of that ilk it's a good watch.

a bit late to it, but have been so far enjoying 'From', quite scary, gory and impossible to figure out wth is going most of the time, but I'm loving it (only up to Ep 2 of Season 2, tho).

It's two of the same producers as 'Lost' but don't hold that against them (tho I am hoping to get some sort of resolution about wtf is going on by the end of it all at least!).

Also catching up after a long hiatus on the newish seasons/ spinoffs of Dexter - man I LOVED that show but hated the ending, so very surprised that I'm enjoying getting into that universe again

I’ve just finished binge watching the 3 seasons of “The Great” on Stan. It’s very, very loosely based on the rise to power of Catherine the Great, Empress of Russia. However, it will be nothing like you may imagine. It was written by an Australian, Tony McNamara. There are some truly memorable characters, Australian Belinda Bromilow is a standout as Aunt Elizabeth. It’s a very dark and bizarre show, but also one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. You’ll be glued to it from the very first episode. Looking forward to any other shows written by McNamara. "Huzzah".

The Agency - Espionage thriller series based on the French original Le Bureau. Quite good

Day of the Jackal - Assassin/spy thriller loosely based on the old Frederick Forsyth novel and movies from the 70's. Not bad but not quite as good as I had hoped.
