Just in case I don't get a chance to say it later, have a safe and merry Christmas everybody. And don't get up
from the table till you can barely waddle and get to the couch.
So in the spirit of all that:
I'm heading bush tomorrow for a bit, so Merry Christmas to all, and for my Christmas contribution, starting with an old standard Christmas favourite but from a (fairly) new voice -
From one of the all time greats -
And one more, with the familiar 'Oh Holy Night' sang to the melody of Bach's 'Ave Maria' (not be confused with Schubert's more popular 'Ave Maria') then melding into the familiar 'Oh Holy Night' melody -
What...you didn't think I was going to use an actual Christmas carol, did you? So cliched, so passe, so uninspired, so...unoriginal.
Let's be honest - the musical and lyrical qualities of Christmas carols are rather questionable a priori. I even found them a tad cloying and hokey when I was a kid, and I liked all kinds of flashing and glowing things way back when.
