The late 70's/ early 80's is my favourite period of reggae especially those big sounds backboned by the rhythms of Sly & Robbie that went outernational but this record isn't connected with that duo. The Uni radio station I used to listen to in 1983 used to put out a chart compiled of DJ's favourites but I could never find this one in the local import record stores that stocked reggae records. Now its been repressed so I won't have to pay the big bucks it costs to get a rare copy posted to Australia.

Trypnotyx, a jazz album with Dennis Chambers and Victor Wooten, they certainly have some chops. Great listen, they even incorporate some turntables by the sound of it.
Saw him in the 90s doing a drum clinic, amazing.

I have this of his,a smooth funk fusion thing.

Wow, love the band you mentioned ty for the headsup.

Yeah I'm pretty new to jazz, have listened to the odd thing over the years but not much. The musicianship is second to none of course, some of it gets a bit wanky but stuff like Trypnotyx has at least proper songs, and lots of other influences not just jazz.
