I bought this record in April of 1989. It's release had been eagerly awaited by me. Contrary to the popular belief that the Descendents ruled (which they did) and ALL kinda sucked by comparison, this wasn't actually the case. The first 3 ALL records are still to me some of the best music ever laid down on tape. When I first put on Side 2 of this, their 3rd album, I was instantly blown away by this song's perfection. The perfect pop hook flawlessly delivered with the most splendidly perfect guitar sound. 27 years later I'm still truly blown away by this song's perfection and never tire of hearing it.
Well, here's some real tight s**t...
I can't wait for the heat to roll around so I can rock it to Wavves every ******* day.
If you don't come from Southern California the whole beach/surf thing doesn't really quite work for some reason. I see they're from San Diego, currently giving them a listen.
The Descendents were heavily influenced by The Last, another Hermosa Beach band from around the same time.
