Reading Johnny Marr's biog atm.

(Quick summary - being in The Smiths was great, playing with Talking Heads was great, playing with The Pretenders was great, playing with The The was great, playing with Billy Bragg was great, playing with Kirsty MacColl was great, collaborating with Bernard Sumner in Electronic was great, life is great, etc.)

Track from the latter....

Obviously, name-dropping is far too crass an endeavour for a person like myself to partake in.....but pretending it wasn't for a second....

I spent some time earlier today conversing with none other than Keith Morris.

While it's not a name that may jump out at too many people, by way of rounding out his bio a little, I'll post some clips from a couple of the obscure, little-known punk bands he formed/co-formed....

Exciting times.

As it happens, Keith bought a CD from me on eBay and we struck up a convo from there. Nice guy.

And the CD he bought (and the band we spent a while discussing)?

These brilliant, wigged-out, criminally under-recognised champs....

^ Zondor likes this band name.

Nice. Heard her new record with Conor Oberst yet? Out last month.

And this work with Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker as boygenius.

This track fron Dacus is one of my faves from last year

Love that era cure. Primary, A Forest, Charlotte Sometimes, Killing an Arab ...

Good call, Rob. The 'Boys Don't Cry' album through to 'Pornography' is The Cure at their best, IMO.

Another gem from that era....

Outside of that era, as much as I love "Just Like Heaven" and "In Between Days", I reckon this'd be my fave....(and wrt to the thread title, I was listening to it a few days ago)....just beyond sublime....
