Talk about blowing your own trumpets!! Pendlebury is a very good footballer, we have proven that we dont need the tag of Rising Star down at our club - all you have to do is look at Heath shaw from last year - he should have won, but didn't, and that's ok look where he is now!!! He may have missed out on a AA spot - but we don't need those either!! We play as a team and all we are after is the flag. Granted we have to go thru you - which will be no easy task, but write us off at your own peril!!

Pendles is going to be a gun, if not on his way now. He has his own style of toughness and hardness at the ball and he plays the game like Mick wants him too!! He does the team thing and the one thiing he has on other players his age is his vision. Can't say Selwood does.
And if we are talking cheap possessions, all players get them, that's the way the game is played now. It's what you do with them that counts, and Pendles has made his count all year. So he makes a few mistakes, again everyone does.

Maybe we should have this arguement in a few years time and see who is the better player then?? I don't think you can split them much now, and I doubt really we'd be able to in a few years either!!!

Good luck on Friday night. May the best team win!! As much asI would love too, if it doesn't happen, I won't be too disappointed cause we beat the Eagles and living in Perth, it was the best thing ever!!!!!

Joel doesn't need the tag of Rising Star to show he is gun. It is nice though I am sure. Likewise, I am sure the 9 players (count em) that are nominees for AA don't need it either. Again I don't think they will mind too much if they got the nod.

I think you can definitely split Joel and Pendlebury, Pendlebury doesn't have the toughness Joel has. In a few years time we will be saying the same thing.

Selwood already shows leadership potential. He was captain of the u18 International Rules team and is touted as a future Geelong captain.

Dingleberry shows no such leadership ability.

Haha, yeah 'we don't need AA', hmmm yeah, sure didn't stop you whinging about it when none of your players made the 40. And I'm not just talking about supporters here, the club as well.

How stupid are you? Selwoods vision is supurb. Please watch Selwood play before commenting on him.

Pendlebury is a gun, and I would not be disappointed if Geelong had Pendlebury and Collingwood had Selwood. Having said that, there is NO WAY I would now trade Selwood for Pendlebury.

you guys certaintly do have fickle memories. G Ablett Jnr in 2004 prelim most certainly did piss himself and not go back in the marking contest. Still a gun player, lets just hope for ur sake he doesn't do a repeat and cost ur team a grandfinal birth.

I reckon Selwood's got toughness mate cuz he puts his head over the ball he's a tough (*^$ mate.

However, Pendlebury has it all over him in almost all other facets of the game. I would rather 20 pendles possessions than 30 of Selwood's. Not to mention that he is still more than likely to have a goal nest to his name with those stats.

yep, but Selwoo'd a tough (*&^ mate!

And this has what relevance to the argument?

And to the idiot that said Selwood doesn't do the team things, how bout you actually go and watch a game for once.

OK. Good point. Does that mean that you have the best team running around but don't need to win a flag to prove it too! Whatever.

the one thiing he has on other players his age is his vision. Can't say Selwood does.
All the better to help him watch Selwood celebrate getting into a GF after the game on Friday night, through the tears.

Pity this thread decended into a bag Pendlebury routine

Both are going to be guns and I can understand why you wouldnt swap Selwood for Pendles but we wouldnt do the swap either. Selwood is fantastic be happy you have got him.

Before you bag Pendlebury too much actually go and watch him play. To see his vision and decision making in close is pretty breathtaking in one so young. I agree that I have seen him less than hard on a couple of occasion when more out in the open. I think this will be knocked out of a young players game more a confidence thing (that is what is so impressive with Selwood he doesnt look like a young player at all)

Anyone who reckons Pendles is an outside cheap receiver hasnt sat and watched him play

From an impartial observer, I think both lots of supporters are getting a bit carried away here. Both are great players, and both clubs should be very happy with the one they have. Selwood's effort to even demand a regular spot in such a dominant team is great, and Pendlebury's effort to have such a positive effect on a side not expected to figure all that heavily in finals action is also a great effort.

Must admit with both players being fast ball getters through the middle I would have enjoyed watching them at Essendon instead of watching Gumby run around in the 2s. Just hope he turns out to be a bit better than Kepler Bradley.

But seriously, both are good players, I'd probably rather have Pendlebury with the ball in his hands, and if I needed someone to get in and get the ball, I'd probably rather have Selwood to go get it for me. In all honesty, they are probably 2 players that would compliment each other fantastically if at the same club.
