What can we as supporters do to drive change?

This is what I'm doing....analysis...lol...the value of Home ground (state) advantage and the role injuries play in your win /loss column.
I haven't collated everyone yet but this seems to show SOME advantage to playing at home with as few injured players as you can!
Who would have thought that injuries (or the lack of) and HGA could affect a teams result column? ;)

Excuses. If anyone really believes what has been served up the last couple of weeks on field, and off, are down to these excuses needs to look closer at the structure of CFC and the missteps taken that have lead us here.

You really want to force change? It's easy. If you have 80,000 like-minded members that feel the same as you, it's just a matter of withholding finance.

Do not renew your membership next year. Write to the club, stating that you will not buy a membership as long as xxx is still in the position of xxxx.
Also, pledge that if the board accept your reasons and take actions, you will buy DOUBLE the amount of memberships in the first year they do that.
That's an $80,000,000* question that the Board will need to give consideration to. For every year they procrastinate, they lose $40,000,000.

Now, be careful what you wish for, because you might get it!!!! It may be worse than what you have now...

I wished for Malthouse to be gone.
That didn’t work out so well.
But I still was happy that he was gone.
Just as I will be ecstatic when the “dynamic duo” are no longer there.

Not excuses. It is possible to have a discussion about how poor we’ve been, by acknowledging the context of this brutal and unbalanced season. It’s highlighted many pre-existing problems and really exposed our poor list management. If the season was ‘normal’ we might have been able to keep papering over the cracks, but now they’re just more obvious.

Not that many weeks ago the board was saying how great it was that we had the weaker teams to play in this compressed section of the season.
How we travelled well and looked forward to a few wins.
As you say, the cracks have been there, even as far back as 2018.
Some of us saw and understood them. I have always said 2018 was such a missed opportunity because we weren’t a premiership team in personnel or coaching. Much like the woofers in 2016.
2018 gave the club licence to continue on this self destructive path.
And here we are.

In reality this is probably the only way it will happen. Or sponsors dropping their backing because the team is doing poorly and they feel they aren't getting value for money.

So what change are you suggesting? To a professional amateurs team? To a man's club of acquaintances? To a stable of racehorses rather than donkeys? Are these the suggestions?

Ahh suggestion....Clarko to replace Buckley? Clarkson has a contract with the Hawks.

So this is the change? I would suggest that us supporters should stay clear of anyone saying a lot of words without much substance.
What point are you making? By the way, contracts can always be broken when there is enough money on the table? I do not follow your argument at all.

Maybe the constitution should be altered to have maximum continuous terms for Board members? Maybe 10 years is enough? They can re-contest, but the must take at least a year or two off?
But again, this needs to be voted and agreed by the Board, and Eddie Putin will not want that.

So in the current environment, the Pies make an over the top offer to Clarkson? Well thats a suggestion. Maybe he has a few mates who can do the assistant roles for free to get under the soft cap. As for my post, dont worry about it.

Agree with this - it is hard to say 2018 is the outlier, when we lost by under a goal in the prelim the next year. This year should still be a strong one for us - we just need to make the finals and get our team back together and we can compete. We have had a very tough travel schedule, and this is probably catching up to us.

Having said that, I think that next year is the last of this window, and it doesn't look like we have the foundations for the next one on the list yet. While Stevenson was a terrific draft pick, I wonder whether hindsight would have us drafting Naughton instead now given our absence of key forwards (and how impressive he is). We will take mids with our next two first round picks (McInness and Daicos), and it is tough to get good key forwards outside of the first round. I think the Beams blunder has hurt us a bit in losing those two first round picks, but not getting the inside mid we really wanted.

Right so the logic is get players back and just flick the switch. Once our tough travel schedule is over just flick the switch, of course what were we all thinking?

Of course we're still in the window next year, like we have been post 2017 :drunk: .Pendles will undoubtedly continue his current form even though will be 33, and Sides will gain his 2018 finals form and continue til flag.

Just gotta flick that switch right?

Maybe not excuses, but notice how contenders don't need to paper over the cracks.

I always thought chicken manure was a nice touch.

Remind me about the timing of that... did it actually elevate the Tigers to success?

Nup, just Ed. Its unfortunate but he trips up too often and causes more pressure on us. I'd like a president who doesn't put pressure on the players. I'm aware it's not his intent, but he is who he is.

I did some research on replacing Ed. His two sons are around 17. I'm not sure exactly but they may have not made the legal age of adulthood. So that could be a bit of a problem. It seems that both have done some acting through Ed's connections. Of course, acting is a great training area for public figures. You coulc argue that they would attract more members in the younger demographic. However, they would really need a solid board around them to do the job. Of course, in a few years, I can see Ed handing over the reins, although he might need some counselling, but at this time, I can't see his boys taking over. Thoughts?
