I just wrote off my crappy (but trusty) little Corolla. I smashed it into a light pole, which came crashing down all over the road, causing a huge ruckus. I smashed from the pole into a barricade and then eventually into another car.

The car was a write off, so I bought a 1993 Ford Laser. My red Bomber number plates are going to look kind of funny, because the car is green. What about he rest of us. What kind of cars do we have ?

Geeze Dan, i don't think i could be that calm talking about an accident like that. Good to see you're alright..... although maybe a couple of weeks away from the computer could do you the world of good

jk

And my car:
96 VS series II commodore berlina- Black, IRS, ABS, twin air bags, clim/cr cntrl, Pioneer system, sports seats, 5.0ltr supercharged, dumped on its arse with pedders sports springs and koni shocks, tinted windows, 3" sports exhaust, LSD, extractors, HSV spoiler, cold air intake, K&N air filter, 18" Momo rims............. just something to get me from a to b (and down Altona beach in melbourne for the 85749644 laps a day in summer like the typical teenage wog from the western suburbs that i am

)

Seriously though, the first few points were true. I'm not a rev head, honestly!!!!

A black Porsche with a red stripe, I wish, but in reality a mazda 626 hatchback, very convenient if when I do take it out & decide to party on, I can just sleep in the back, I always have a roll up mattress & douna in the back for just such occasions, it's a lot safer than driving after you've been out drinking, you never know what could happen.

Only Kidding.
You have chosen the enlightened path though. Stick with holdens and you'll be fine!!!
I wouldn't p*** on a ford if it was on fire. Actually, in saying that, i wouldn't p*** on any car if it was on fire.

long live the mighty Holden Gemini

Me ?

I hate modern cars, they all look the same, go the same, you feel shithouse sitting inside them, they smell terrible, they are too expensive to fix, they damage too easily in a crash etc etc

I'm hopelessly addicted to such wonderfully antiquated automotive features such as

bench front seats
quarter-vent windows
transmission controls on the steering column
big black bakelite steering wheel
in-line ohv six cylinder engines
rear wheel drive
cart sprung rear suspension

for this reason I have a 1963 Humber Super Snipe, which I maintain in pristine condition.

A joy to drive, a pleasure to own.

Hope you are OK Dan24 - that sounds like a pretty nasty smash, sick of your Laser yet ?

Falcon 91 model
Lowered sports suspension, crome mags, spoiler, Kenwood sound system.

Not some stretched Opel with a crap Buick engine (AKA Holden Commodore) and certainly not some imported, foreign piece of rubbish.

So Bluey ... you have a Camry? Reliable, safe, honest, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzz.

The big Blue Oval is back ... bring on Bathurst.

Grendel,

The accident happened on that really wet Monday two weeks ago. Cathy Freemans would win the gold medal later that night, if you remember the day.

I was driving at about 60km/h, and just in front of me, a car lost their trailer load of rubbish. The car behind the trailer slaemmd on the brakes and came to a dead stop.

I was directly behind that car, so I had to come to a dead stop too. I slammed on the brakes and I skidded and lost control. I went up onto the median strip, took out a light pole (which fell down), smashed back into a barricade and eventually slammed into the car in front. The wet conditions caused me to skid.

Thankfully, I was insured, although a got f*ck all back for the Corolla. Funnily enough I wasn't even shaken up. Not a scratch. Not even a headache. I was just annoyed about the inconvenience.

Obviously, the big guy upstairs wants me to continue my antics here on bigfooty.

The thing that pisses me off, is that the guy who lost his trailer of rubbish caused the accident, but he isn't liable because of the wet and blustery conditions. So, "technically", I am at fault, but I believe I did everything I could do avoid an accident.

Magpie Joffa,

Unfortunately when you buy a used car, you can't choose the colour. Green and red, would you believe are opposites colours. I remember learning that in Art at school. Red is opposite to green. Purple is opposite to Yellow. Orange is opposiute to Blue.

But Green and red can be fashionable. The now defunct South Sydney Rabbitohs Rugby League club used to wear Green and red.

Dan that was a bastard of a night, yes i remember it. Sorry about your liabilty claims now counting for zilch aint it a bitch, but like you said as least your still here and walking around

Anyone else had any bad crashes? Ive never (more luck than good driving skills i admit) personally crashed, but ive been in a few prangs with others driving. A mate once flipped his subaru with me in the backseat (no seat belt asleep 5am) 50kms out of Mildura doing about 140kms. As in Dans case, walked away without a scratch. Except the scratching of the head as to how we all werent killed. The car was demolished, ended up on its roof.

Since that day ive been the most placid driver you could meet haha.

BSA long live the relics too. You sound like you and a mate of mine would get along famously. He has a P76 Leyland with a boot bigger than Waverly & a Bramha (sp?) that was his old mans from the early sixties that is just a DREAM to ride in. He wont let me drive it lol!!!
