What City Is Better For A Footy Player To Move To?

With all the talk around Bailey Smith and his Ballarat joke, I thought we should put it to the B13 flogs as to what city is better for a footballer to move to (or to at least play hoe games at)?

Geelong or Ballarat?

They are hard to split.

Geelong has the Corio Bay Roadhouse and The Sphinx. Legendary supporter flogs like Catman. Unfortunately the Geelong Mall & CBD is attracting degenerates (presumably out on bail) so BYO stabproof vests.

Ballarat has Sovereign Hill and an all you can eat Pizza Hut. Plus #1 Graphic Designer and North supporter, Sooz. On the downside winters are freezing.

Go well, flogs!

Tough call.
Geelong has the elephant and castle which is the best grab a granny pub in Victoria.

Ballarat has a pancake parlour which charges like wounded bulls.

Mmmmmmmmm dunno slightly favour jilong for the ice.

Honestly, as someone who’s lived near both for a bit, it depends what vibe you’re going for. Geelong has more of that coastal mix with bigger sports energy and nightlife. The CBD has gone downhill recently, but if you're just there for footy and recovery time at the beach, it's still winning. Ballarat's colder but cheaper, and you’ve got places like Sovereign Hill which is alright if you’re into historic towns. Winters do hit hard though, and the footy scene there feels smaller scale, more local.

If someone’s actually making a big move for footy or lifestyle reasons, especially if it’s a more complex move from interstate or overseas, I’d suggest looking into these moving services for stuff like planning out logistics and getting support at both ends: https://threemovers.com/united-states-of-america-international-moving-companies/.
