Review What Daniel Jackson Does

I didn't realise that being a good moderator involved trying your best to bait other posters into recurring verbal abuse fests and burying decent threads in worthless crap ptf, but I'm sure you know what you're doing, right?
Rayzor , like on other occasions I have debated content within your posts, is it my fault you continue to feed that debate with what I consider or know to be dodgy content ?
If what I provide in response you deem rubbish , trash , crap or whatever else feel free to shoot it to bits .
I don't discuss moderating upon general boards, so if you or anyone else would like to do so , please do so via PM.

I'm sure we'll see a smile on Dimmas face when Jacko bangs it onto the boot

DJackson has played under DHardwick for a full AFL season, he's also put in two pre-seasons under him as well...

Throw in a couple of seasons also where Dimma as assistant coach would have been well aware of Jacko's attributes as a player...

It would not be unreasonable to make the obvious assumption then that Dimma likes what Jacko brings to the club as a player...right...?!?!...

Otherwise why keep selecting him...

Jacko is obviously doing a job for Dimma that brings a...smile on Dimmas face...and he's doing it well...:p...

Dimma obviously is happy , within the current climate, with what Jackson collectively brings to the table and for that reason is selected .
I don't think that has always been the case , and I doubt there isn't facets within his game that Dimma wouldn't like to see significantly improve .
Some of which most likely have been brought up within this thread !

This thread went from debateable to ridiculous 4 pages ago (and my pages are set to 30 posts). It's obviously a divisive topic that has clear backers for both sides and, at the start of the discussion, started out clearly so. (this isn't directed at any one poster) Don't fall into the trap of sounding like a bad record and constantly rehashing what you've said over and over, it just shows little respect for differing opinions which, frankly, is what we're on this board to hear. Everyone relax and stop dredging up old threads but, more importantly, stop targeting individual posters repeatedly, in any thread. Can't remember who said it but it's quite pertinent, "he who flings mud, dirties himself the most"

Btw PTF, that new picture was really screwing with me as I read down the page, it's eye catching.

This thread is on the verge of being closed down if posters can't stick to the topic. It's getting too personal.

LMAO!

Last time I did that,Oxx got screwed in the arshole and was banished.

Jacko is our engine room.

Love him and have for years

Be surprised if he doesn't have a few Brownlow votes so far, was clearly BOG last night well ahead of any of the Saints' 'top shelf' mids.

The handball to Cotchin for our first goal was sublime, but there was so many little things like his 'oops, was my elbow sticking out a fraction?' bump which stitched up McEvoy it'd take hours to describe them all.

Gonna be very tough to ignore for the captaincy when it comes time.

I have been a Jacko doubter mostly because of his kicking, but this year he's been nothing short of A-grade. He's lowering is eyes and picking out targets perfectly instead of blindly bombing, which has been the case previously.

Much kudos to him.

Maybe it's not just Jake but others who are trying to maximise their strengths on field, Or maybe the skills work/drills are starting to pay off.:thumbsu:

Good point. Jake, Whitey and Nahas are all playing career best footy under Dimma and his coaching staff. Evenn Gusses 3rd qtr against the Tankers and game against the Saints were fantastic. The big Vick is starting to turn it on. When the bottom end starts improving like they are, then you know your team is genuinely on the rise.

Jacko is a bloody good player, not a champion he has a few too many rough edges but nonetheless he has the innate quality to win the hard ball and push it forward, good pace and a fearless **** you don't take shit attitude, i'm certain he is a real leader amongst the group and when he is playing well he drags alot with him. All good sides have a jacko amongst the group, and I mean ALL:thumbsu:

Jacko is a great leader and all but it will be very easy to ignore. Cotchin is the next captain without a doubt.

Cotchin is at least 4 -5 years off captaincy.
It's ludicrous to suggest otherwise.

JAckson has been tenacious, tuff and applied himself throughout his career. HEs loyal and has earned choice before a kid like COtch.
IMO his game would lift another 25 % as captain.

Cotchin has already captained the squad ahead of Jackson last year when newman was injured. Doesn't have to wait 4 ro 5 years will be ready in about 2 years. Newman will move aside and Cotchin will be 23.

The only other person considered last year according to the leadership group when Newman was out was lids. Jacko will be in the leadership group but its pretty obvious Cotchin is the heir apparent.

Maybe you missed Newmans comments about Cotchin most likely being the next captain of the Richmond FC. ;)

Love Jacko always have...never doubted his quality and the hardness he brings to the team...

His hardness at the opposition's ball player creates opportunities for our more skilled 'ball players'...

Was that Jacko at a ball-up in the 2nd/3rd quarter?!?!...that laid a solid shoulder fair and squarely into ZDawson's chest and flattened him?!?!...:thumbsu:...

RFC would not lose anything by having Jacko as captain...:thumbsu:...

Like i have said before...as good as AHamill...if not better...:thumbsu:...

Maybe Cotchin is clearly the better candidate and will certainly get the job, but I'm pretty sure Newman won't be appointing the next captain and the perceptions of your teammates and the coaching staff can change over time.

I think both Jackson and Reiwoldt would be excellent candidates, but I'd lean to Jackson for the fact he covers the whole ground and for some time now he's been almost always the player we can turn to when we need a lift. Jackson's been very impressive in his media performances as has Jack, suddenly we have an abundance of leaders coming through.

I'd have to see Cotchin around the club to appreciate how he could be a better candidate, onfield I haven't seen anything to rate him as a standout leader rather than just a potentially awesome footballer, though he may well have turned that around by the time we have to choose.

It is become clear that you don't watch the boys close enough, have a look at the Quarter time breaks when the boys are walking back to the huddle, Cotchin is the one patting the boys on the back revving them all up saying a few positive words and generally just showing outstanding leadership.

Have a look at the boys walking off the field last week after the final siren had gone, all the boys with heads down and obviously upset they had lost, who's the one with the positive body language and still patting all the boys on the head and again showing great leadership, Cotchin.

The kid will be our next Captain without a shadow of a doubt.

you serious you haven't seen anything on field to suggest he is a leader? It's always him or Newman who talks in the huddle. The way he chatted to riewoldt just after he learnt he wasn't coming back on. Always gets around everyone at the breaks and often chats to the midfield group at the breaks.

Not saying jacko isn't a fantastic leader but Cotchin is already an incredible leader for a 20 year old and earmarked for captaincy from Newman and the leadership group is a pretty good indicator of his credentials.
