Dwayo, you are either a convincingly clever troll or a delusional fan. Your posts are amusing to read either way.

I can't see us winning this one, but I hope you're right and I'm wrong.

Anyway keep it up Dwayo. I'd say most of us smile when you post so that in itself is good.

I say to all you fair weather supporters - likes of auste1234, masai, imperialpurple, dasler, dugrere, mick ryan, voodoo, kapow etc etc

IT AIN'T OVER UNTIL IT'S OVER.

You were all screaming that its over six weeks ago and here we are still alive and in the 8. So keep "slagging me" and keep "slagging your team" - it will not change - we will play finals footy. We only need one more win.

I await dasler's reaction to this declaration of him as a Fremantle supporter with glee...

You might get there with only one more win. That was true this time last year as well. However, slagging off people as "fair weather" supporters is ridiculous. Just because you don't think your team will make it doesn't mean you don't support them to the hilt. IP and masai - and most of the rest of those you name - are purple through and through.

Well said Q. I can't think of a time when IP has been anything other than totally PURPLE.

no, no... hoss and Q, thank you both so much for jumping to my defence - however, it is quite true... I am fair-weather only. I am looking for the next opportunity to jump off the bandwagon. I've been thinking of jumping on that other one - I think it might be navy blue with ochre coloured racing stripes... or royal blue with yellow stripes... or maybe even yellow with blue stripes... anyway, doesn't matter. I've heard that they are doing quite well, so being the sometime supporter that I am, I intend to jump on while the going is good. Maybe then instead of being "fair-weather", I can "wear-feather" and then I'll really fit in.

Ooh... I'm excited!!

To all you “doubting fair-weather supporters” – that’s the Saints taken care off, now for Port next week, which should be an easy one.

CC team selection was right and he totally out coached Thomas.

We are really going to shake some of these other teams during the finals time and maybe we see Freo at GF time. Anything is possible.

Well put, you aren't going to get a lot of support Dwayo when you come out with the statements you do. Next thing you will say is Robert Hadrill will win the brownlow.

We can unite for the time being :) , but your on your own with your views.

Or, we had the benefit of the other teams unfortunate run of injuries during the match

Larkham isn't still on the Freo payroll, is he?

Larcom and Connolly shook hands on the ground after the game but it looked like a token gesture.

Thanks mate, I have total faith in this team and the coach.

It took a little sorting out with all the injuries and such, but out of it came Cowley, Peake, Mundy, Pav playing like a champion that he is, etc etc and we are in the top 8.

As I mentioned in another post - playing in the GF is a possibility and then anything can happen.

Hi Dwayo, like your goodself I have been continually talking us up making the 8 and in fact backed us at odds of $6.50 to make it about 6 weeks ago.

However although the coach has improved a bit (and I never thought he was the main problem, rather Schwab is more fundamental to flaws at the club), I think the improvement is not down to mainly the coach. Rather the talent of the squad is such that we would likely have been top 4 without so many injuries and close losses. Now the players have returned we are marching up the ladder.

The question would still be legitimate to ask at the end of the year, would the Dockers have done better with a different coach given our talented list ? Maybethe answer would be 'No'. However the question would have to be asked and sensibly thought about before giving Connolly a pass or a fail for the season.

There has been much flak about the club moving early on extending CC's contract. Well we now have 11 wins ground out under substantial injury pressure. The team has been through major restructure. We are in the midst of a terrific run at the right end of the season. There is (or at least should be) pleanty of optimism for the next year and beyond. We are a reasonable chance to play finals.

Would you re-appoint CC now? Yes or No.

Is absolutely line ball. Goes back to the same point, a coach should be judged not just on his performance but on what talent he has had at his disposal. We have had a lot of injuries but still had reasonable depth to perform.

For me if we make finals and win the first week he gets a passmark. If not then he will get a fail mark. Either way he has done well enough in Schwab and Hart's eyes to stay on so does not matter what we think.

Iscah, what about the second half of the equation. If as you say (don't agree with you) he gets a fail mark. What next? Sack him? Who do you see coming in? Another untried coach who needs to go through exactly the same learning curve?
