I've gone fully Balkan roots tonight with some homemade fallow deer Cevapi (25%pork fat, garlic, white pepper, salt, smoked paprika) and a bunch of pickled sides including a homemade Ajvar, homegrown tomatoes and a super woggy crystal shot glass full of aged plum brandy.
Ziveli.

There's a cavapi grill in South Melbourne that's well worth a visit.

As a wog kid growing up I could always rely on Cevapi and burek to help break the ice with friends visiting.
The early 90's were all about chips, party pies, lollies etc. so my Aussie mates were definitely experiencing culture shock at my place with full blown veggies gardens, 44gallon drums of pickled vegetables, illegal brandy stills, smokehouses, hanging animal carcases etc. all within 30min of the CBD:smile:

I made laksa yesterday, of the popular Singapore-style which uses coconut milk. Chicken and prawn. All from scratch - laksa paste is easy to make and ingredients are always available at Asian grocers (unlike, for example, Thai curry paste where there is a pretty limited time when kaffir limes are likely to be sold). It turned out absolutely delicious.

Howd you do the redfish?
microwave under glad wrap with some rice wine
then put spring onion, garlic and ginger into hot oil and poured over with some sesame oil, soy and white pepper

turned out real well
I think it was 4 and half minutes on my microwave the youtube I followed was 3 and half

Nice I was imagining something like this.
When I can be bothered snagging fresh flounder I do a similar thing in a bamboo steamer and wrapped in a banana leaf, basically the same recipe otherwise.

Nice variety of cuisines and meats.
I've got fresh flattie tails caught yesterday, beer batter and fried in beef tallow with a Greek salad.

Been eating keto since new years. Dinner tonight was Cauliflower "Mac" n Cheese spiced with smoked paprika and cayenne pepper. Was bloody nice.

Roast Beef on the menu tomorrow night.

I was pretty keto today too, part of 5;2
Spinach spring onion and feta omelette and Chicken mince Stir fry Thai style with Konjac noodles and jasmine tea

Big fat T bone chips and rocket parmesan salad tomorrow

Love a rocket and Parmasean salad, I add salted capers and red onion with a good dash of well aged sweet balsamic.

Had a big mixed salad of Kale, spinach, broccoli, edemame, red onion, fetta and bulgur with a few boiled eggs.
I have been vegetarian during the week this year then carnivore on the weekend. The catch is I can only eat fish and meat I have killed myself.
Not sure how long I will continue to do this but it has been a fun challenge, luckily I have a good supply of game meat in the freezer but the hankering for a fatty steak is growing.

Coles T Bone steak with a fried brown onion. I don't know how many more times I need to confirm with myself Coles beef is rubbish compared to woolworths. Woolworths actually aint bad for supermarket grade, the Coles stuff is the cheap tough s**t you'd expect
