1. 1 good quarter in 4 is just not good enough
2. Players still not lowering their eyes and hitting targets
3. Buddy is a freak but we need Tippett back playing and firing consistently on all cylinders
4. The mids are missing Hanners and we need Shaw back ASAP.

ditto.

It was good enough to blow the lead out to 70 points. Could have brought that intensity for 4 quarters and win by 200 hundred but probably unnecessary.

I like the way we are pacing ourselves this year, we are lifting a gear when we need to. If you bring your highest 4 quarter intensity for the entire season you burn out - just look at Port.

Having extra numbers (Mcglynn, Bird, Lloyd etc) rotating through the midfield this year has also been an inspired move that is helping everyone fresh compared to last year, shouldn't really be a need to rest anyone especially with the bye this weekend.

I've been thinking the same (they are pacing themselves for the finals), but disposal efficiency shouldn't have dropped off like it has. That's pretty much my only worry atm.

It lifts simultaneously with pressure and intensity. They have the ability, it's all mindset / effort.

The kicks not to advantage in the first half were frustrating I agree, but as soon as the intensity lifted we started hitting targets and putting out in front of Buddy on the lead.

I hope you're right. I dont see why DE should drop with intensity though, unless its psychological.

(maybe intensity gives them more space on leads, etc, so less pressure on kicks/hbs? But still, there have been plenty of times they should hit targets when very little pressure is being applied and they seem to miss. Good news is it seems to be in first quarters.)

Given they we are on top of the ladder and are currently equal with our best winning streak in the history of the club, it kinda feels shitty to be knit-picking like this. We really cant complain, we're looking at our best team in our history ever atm, and one of the best to ever play the game.

So happy to be a swans supporter atm.

:)

1 quarter does not make a a whole game!!! No matter how big that 1 quarter of a game was. I would rather the boys play out 4 quarters consistently than have to rely on 1 quarter of excellence. Premiership winning sides will always endeavour to put 4 good quarters together.

Realistically if it wasn't for Buddy's influence we would have lost to Port and Richmond. Due to players going missing during games.

Had a quiet first half as a result of poor delivery from the midfield, but as soon as the supply to him improved, BANG!
Exactly what I was saying at the game, disposals and delivery in the first half was rubbish, some of the worse I've seen for a long time. It was unbelievably cold, but it wasn't really wet.
