As selected on Footy Draft:-

2. Richard Tambling
5. Lance Franklin
7. Cameron Wood
21. Ryan Jackson
26. Ryan Bain
50. Pass

Personally I LOVE the first two selections and would be RAPT if they came into fruition, not a huge fan of drafting a ruckman with Pick 7, but seems like Hawks have got their hearts set on it! Jackson missed most of the year with a broken ankle, but previously ranked as one of the top players going into this year. Silky skills would be a huge benefit along with Tambling's! Not happy about the last two selections, Bain is an outside reciever and I think we would be best served drafting a KPP or ruckman with the veiw of developing them, unless McQualter is still around, then I would snap him up!
Pick 50 is interesting, I would like the Hawks to utilise it, maybe Jack Juniper as a smokey...

My Ideal Order:-
2. Richard Tambling
5. Lance Franklin
7. Angus Monfries
21. Roury Kirkby/Heath Grundy
26. Ivan Maric
50. Jack Juniper

Wishful thinking on my behalf!! ;)

Why? If we get the supposed BEST KPP of the draft? The only reason Roughead is above Franklin is because of the Victorian factor and Franklin has said that that's not a problem, he's lookin forward to playing in Victoria... hopefully for the MIGHTY HAWKS!!

I too would want Roughead at 2, unless Deliedo is available. Franklin may have come out and said he is happy to head to vic, but for how long? Roughead is the safer bet, i really feel that even taking Roughead at 2 we can end up with one of the 3 best midfielders at 5, i can't see richmond taking 2 midfielders with their two choices, remember the doggies also need a kpp, and the tiges will most likely take a kpp at 4 regardless.

There's NO WAY Hawthorn would waste Pick 2 on Roughead, not when there are guys like Tambling and Griffen avaliable for selection! Bucky has already said that he will go for the BEST avaliable with the first two picks, thus ruling out Roughead with Pick 2.
Everyone has heard stories about the questions raised oer the attitude of Franklin, but I have heard an equal amount from other supporters on the attitude of Roughead, saying he is just as ready to spit the dummy as Franklin!
Anyway, each to their own I guess, just don't see your way working out at all IMO!

i can't see the tiges taking 2 midfielders, i am 99% sure we can grab the odd one out at 5, or if both taken, then we can secure Franklin at 5, at least one of those 2 should become a star.

Nah, I don't think the Tigers will take two midfielders either! I think the forst five picks will go as FootyDraft.com has them:
1. Deledio
2. Tambling
3. Griffen
4. Roughead
5. Franklin

Both Tambling and Franklin SHOULD become AFL STARS, with the emphasis on SHOULD! Griffen is seen as the 'safe' selection, but could you really go past the silky skills combined with the no regard for ones self hardness at the ball that makes up the most exciting player in the draft, Tambling.. Or the second most exciting player, 'Buddy' Franklin, could be ANYTHING, could tear the competition apart, limb from limb!
What do you think about the other selections/my selections!?!

Without naming names, as i wouldn't know who to go for, it should be something like this:

2 KPP/Mid
5 Mid/KPP
7 Ruck/Mid
2nd rd+: Ruck/Mid/KPP

The only real reason i would want Roughead at two is: vic and kpp
I would try and steer clear of wa/sa boys until at least 2nd round.

Yeah, the Hawks will be looking to take 1 Ruckman, 2 Midfielders, 2 KPP and a project player (KPP aswell).
Does anyone have any thoughts on who these picks might be??

I think this would be a good way for it to go:

Top Seven
1) Deledio - nothing we can do, almost certain
2) Roughead - Richmond are keen on him, if we want him, this is how we get him
3) Tambling - The dogs will take the best player available nothing we can do
4) Franklin - Richmond wont wanna miss out on a quality tall
5) Griffen - We need to add class to our midfield
6) Monfries - Dogs will look for another quality midfielder
7) Wood - We need to develop a quality replacement for Everitt
Our picks
21) Jackson - Classy onballer
26) Ivan Maric - Another quality tall who can go forward
What do u reckon?

Mate, there is no way that Hawthorn will select Roughead with Pick 2! It just will not happen! Pick 2 will be out of Tambling and Deledio, and we will get whoever Richmond doesn't choose! Those two are the standouts, closely followed by Griffen and then further back ar Franklin followed by Roughead!
Wood is one that I really am leaning towards, yet I'm not sure about a ruckman at pick 7! If only we had a Pick at about 13!! Ahh well.. Wood will be a sensational ruckman, he'll just take longer to develop! Jackson is a classy player, but lacks speed which is something Hawthorn desperately needs!! Don't want Bain anywhere near the Hawks, we don't need another outside player, we need a KPP or Ruckman with that pick! Matt Little may be a suprise selection!

Yes that is a good point, but if we dont get Roughead at 2, richmond will at 4. If we really want Roughead this is what we have to do. We will still end up with another quality midfielder in Griffen at 5 anyway

Tambling definetley at 2, now the feeling is Bulldogs will pick Franklin , Richmond Roughhead, and that will leave us with Griffen, Hmm sounds good, a nice midfield for Hawthorn for onece, but no kpps, maybe use pick 7 on the next best KPP, and grab a ruckman in the 20s.
mate its gonna be a tough one. all i know is you cant pass on a tambling or a deledio, there the best 2, we should be choosing the best available talent , not settling for second best just because we need a player for that positon,

Pick 7 now im going against everything i just said we, definetley need a kpp to come from somewhere, so i think this pick has to be it, lets hope it all pans out.
argh, all i know is ive just done my head in, hurry up Nov 20.

Yes we need to add KKP's to the list but we also need to add class. The only two "A" grade players we have on the list currently are Crawford and Everitt and both are in the back end of their careers. Hodge should get there as well but is not there yet. All other players on our list are B or C grade players based on performances over recent years. Deledio and Tambling are a class above all the rest in this draft. We simply must take the best available player at pick 2 and put some class back into the list. I will be far more disappointed if we miss out on a potential star player than if we do not fill our KKP short comings in this draft.
