Hey Guys and Gals,
Just wondering if any of you are involved in AFL cheersquads around the country? If so what does the club give/offer to you as a member? Do you pay to belong to your clubs cheersquad?

Thanks for your help...

But GO THOSE MIGHTY MIGHTY LIONS !!!!!!!!!!!

Hey GTYG, not sure what they get for it - but Magpies pay way more than us, around $50 I think per person for c/s membership!

Mags for us it is $17.50 per person I think....

90% of c/s members already have their own reserved seat in the ground, or the option of sitting in the reserved c/s area. I think we get a membership card and wallet, signed posters, year book, cheaper accomm for interstate matches (they sourced that for us and arranged a couple of deals it looks like cause when booking we have to quote a reference number), and when some sponsorship is finalised we will have a choice of what to do with the money - like onfield uniforms, c/s trip away or something like that.

So yeah we get an alright deal for our money.

Thanks Danni. But I don't recall how much cheersquad is at the LIONS (in Brisbane) as I just pay it.

Mags thanks for the response. So you pay your normal membership then cheersquad and within that you get a seat in cheersquad area????

collingwood_joffa... sorry that wasn't what I meant. I was just looking to see how things are done elsewhere to see how we can boost membership to cheersquads. Do they help you with away games etc???

At Collingwood we also get occasional fringe benefits. A while back we were invited to a Club function that would have cost an arm and a leg if we'd gone as civilians.

There's also the occasional priceless moment ... like having Eddie McGuire actually jump the fence after a match and sing the Club song with us, as happened at Colonial Stadium a few weeks back.

We've actually got two levels of cheer squad membership. The $15 level allows you to sit with the cheer squad at away games. The $50 membership gives you a reserved seat at home games in addition to the right to sit with the Cheer Squad at away games. But, in reality, I think a lot of the $15 members are still managing to sit with us at home games. It probably depends on whether it's a blockbuster game or not. And why not? I'd much rather have the seats full than empty. Personally, I think we should scrap the reserved seats idea for home games and just have a roped-off area, first-in-best-dressed.

We also get a key ring and membership card.

But, like Joffa, I tend to think that the real benefits of Cheer Squad membership are intangible things, like the sense of belonging that you get. And the friends you meet.

thanks everyone for your response.

was actually hoping to get a bit more feed back.

JUST LOVE MY FOOTY !!!!!!
