What do you guys think of an AFL transfer system, for example players can be sold to other clubs, rather than trading. EG Say the crows wanted Hird, and his tranfer value is say $500 000, crows pay the bombers that, and hes a crows player!, this would also help poorer clubs such as Gelong who could sell there players to clear debts. I think it would work, and forget DRAFTS, AFL clubs should pay the State league teams for there players! i think this would be great!

Although, reading it again, I do understand!

However I don't think the draft should be lost. That is a big way of which up and coming players come into AFL.

Nah

Not a good idea

in the end you get super teams

Rich=buy other teams out=top players=not a fair competition

In the end a manchester united thing would occurr like in England

Definitely not a good idea

Say goodbye to allot of melbourne based clubs
Clubs like adelaide,port,eagles

Would become dominant because they have the money

Draft is a fair system because teams have the opportynity to rebuild
Saints for example would be history

Under the Bossnam (sp?) ruling in soccer tranfers are looking likely to become a thing of the pass as its an infringment of players rights to choice of employment (or something like that) so i doubt the AFL would take what would in effect be a retro grade action.

Be interesting to speculate what sort of figures would be bandied around though
