I commend the hawthorn football club for providing their vintage jumpers for their fans to purchase...I particularly like the 60's jumper and especially the 80's jumper complete with original on field VFL badge and HFC sponsor......I wish Collingwood would do the same.

check out their shop online under museum merchandise.

It is a good idea (and a great revenue raiser), however...

The old AFL logo on the diamond guernsey looks really bad. Not exactly sure what is wrong with it, but it looks like a Thailand job. Are the logos sewn on or sublimated? If it's the former, I'd be scouring eBay to try to find a patch that I could transfer onto the jumper.

Secondly, sometimes the allure of a guernsey is in how scarce it is. Now that you can buy the diamond guernsey whenever you want, a lot of people are going to look at it for a moment and say "Wow, what a terrible guernsey. Why would I buy that?"

Of course there would be some heritages from various clubs which would sell like hot cakes. Did someone say 'Ochre'?

Clicking on the image of the diamond guernsey gives a larger and clearer picture of the logos which shows they are sublimated.....Ochre? where??

Outstanding Suns collection back a page or so. At that rate you will have a museum worthy collection in a few years. I wish Adelaide had sold their match worn jumpers more readily when they came into the competition.
Anyways, a few recent additions

And not a footy jumper but a part of my other collecting passion and obviously hence the username

That Chicago script is awesome. :thumbsu:
Agreed, but unless I'm very much mistaken, 23_fan's is the real deal...a legit game worn from the 1980s. The giveaway is the fact that the font is printed on, not sewn on like all their authentic jerseys from 1992/93 onwards and the 'Sand Knit' tag, which is the company that manufactured the jerseys before Champion. If 23_fan gives us a close up picture, I'm confident it will have the year it was worn on one of the tags, as my Sand Knit jersey does. Nothing against Chris Who's, it's just 23_fan's probably belongs in a museum.

One other thing which gives you a clue as to the heritage is the player name lettering. When they moved to stitched on letters, the players name went to black with a white outline.

Yeah, your spot on MC Extra Dollop. It's a 1986/87 Bulls road jersey that was leftover and made up for use during the 1989/90 season (sand-knits last full season before macgregor sports, the company that owned the brand, went bust and the NBA gave the contract to champion) It's also photo-matched to a game against the Lakers

Mj game worns are available. If you have $35000 or so hanging around.
Give or take a bit. :D

It's a dream/ plan to own something signed by MJ. . With UDA of course.

Which. If anything, upper deck are pricey but great. You can use the code on the hologram to login to the upper deck site. It'll tell you when it was signed and have an exact photo of what was signed. As in it'll show you a picture of say, your jersey, with your limited number. So if you had 56/123 that the pic it shows of the item you own.

They use to do pen cam aswell which was the pen with a camera and you could punch in your hologram number and you can see it gettin signed and numbered. Pretty cool.

****. in. hell

23 you're my new favourite poster on this board. Amazing collection even without the MJ match worn, but that is simply incredible. Best thing I've seen in this thread by a mile :thumbsu:

Think I may have caused some confusion here. The Jordan is game used, it just wasn't used in the original year that it was intended to be if that makes sense. Teams get blank jerseys from the manufacturers and have them attributed with player details when they need them. In this instance, the team didn't need the jersey in 86/87 and had it spare for later. It is a half-size smaller than Jordan would normally have worn but due to the impending manufacturer change the Bulls were using up any old stock before they had to start using champion jerseys. Hope that clears it up somewhat.
